There was mail in my box but not white envelopes from the DOJ, or UT, for that matter.

That really sucks! I've been stopping here all day waiting for you to say it arrived . I even joined Facebook so I could get on the WCI page to watch everyone post about getting theirs. Yours will be in tomorrow I bet! Just in time for Lizzy's , if not you can fondle mine!

My dad mailed his Utah in on Sep. 6 with the check cashed on the 9th and he hasn't got his yet either. Seems the average is sixty days door to door.

At first I thought you'se guys were nuts for tripping to Madistan to drop your app's in person, now I am a little bit envious of you getting your permission slips already.

I am patiently waiting in the northwoods for mine to arrive, I bet my background check is taking up time, and it is going to delay mine even more. Yet my NICS check on an AR lower was only delayed 1 day, unlike the 7-10 days on everything else I purchase.

So, you're gonna chop up the one you got, and send in the pieces, and say it was damaged?
No. Are you? I think you think I was the other poster. I merely stated a fact.

got my permit #40

Yup, since they were all being mixed up in the bucket there is no order. You were right next to me right? And mine's lower by more than a few. It's cool being in the first "42" printed though.

Our's probably didn't make it out in the mail on the first day and since Paul is further away, maybe tomorrow for him.

I'm rooting for ya Paul!

Madison is like 250 miles away for us. I'd have to lose a whole days pay (self employed), and both my trucks get about 15 mpg. 500 miles divided by 15 = 33.3. Figure 34 gallons of gas at $3.50 per gallon. $119. Then there's the parking fee. I made $300 on Tuesday, working. To drop mine off in person would've cost me about $430 at least. I just bought a Kahr 9mm last month for $425. IOW... I can wait a few days/weeks, I've been waiting 15 years already. If I get mine before I leave for deer season on the 18th, I'll be happy.

I thought we were nuts too, even as we were putting our apps in the shredder, um I mean the box. If it wasn't for the fact a bunch of people I already met and others I wanted to meet were having an OC breakfast, I would have stayed home.

I really thought our permits were going to sit at the capitol waiting for someone to take there sweet time getting to the right place, while truck loads of apps were being processed. I'll admit I was hoping we would get low numbers but I thought it was a pipe dream.

I'm glad Cindy was a real person .

My reasons were just the opposite... I came to Madison to turn in my application as early as possible. As have already met some of the "Breakfast Club" and others that I have not met, well, there will be other meets... If it was not for handing in the application in person I would have "stayed home".

Truth be told, it was my intent from day one to be number 1 in line (just a personal desire) and if there were not already three there who have had to have had connections to be let in early, and Mr. Van Hollens grandstand, I would have been. And if that would have happend and they processed in order my number would have been number 1.... I know... a lotta "IF's" and that is ok... I got real close to meeting my goal (close enough) and with the DOJ unexpectedly proceesing and mailing instantly, I am happy with card # 36 saftely in my hand so soon.

ETA: - Oh Yea, check out my new Sig.....

I wanted you to get #2 also, I knew #1 was going to JB or the Gov. I'm happy they didn't process them exactly so that those other guys with the "connections" hopefully get super high numbers.

We did miss you at the "Breakfast Club" though ;).

Edit:
Maybe Paul got #2!

Hey Outdoorsman,

What you did not know was that J.B. Holland would get permit #1. Gov Walker probably got #2.

Anyway my friend, I am so proud of you and all my friends at WI Carry and I am so happy to have met you and to have played a mostly insignificant part in your collective victory these past few days. You, and the WI Carry crew carried a big load for a long time and you finally won the day. I am so damned proud of you guys - you - Paul - McX - MKEgal - Jason - and all my other friends and students.

When I left Wisconsin, I said I would never return to live in WI because WI was a 2A right denied State. I am so happy that WI now has concealed carry.

Snip...

Hey Outdoorsman,

To be honest no, I did not even think of that. Up until I got involved with the Open Carry movement I was not too politically active or I suppose aware.... I think one of my first posts was something about being able to wrtie down everything I knew about government on a postage stamp...

But now that has changed. I am involved with such a wonderfull (ok sometimes wonderfull) bunch of guys and gals, hey... I am here to stay and learn.

And Jim... Jim, please. Your talents and qualifications are only exceeded by your modesty... As stated here many times... YOU ARE THE MAN.... and as stated more recently by 'The Wise One"... With out you Jim, I would literally not have this permit in my hand. And I will second that statement +1.

So as you have said so many times in the past... if I may....

Carry On My Friend, Proudly Carry On.
