One would think you would welcome an opportunity for a free and open exchange with one who has an extensive background in law enforcement. Very unfortunate you have chosen to make this adversarial. I support your gun rights 100%.

What exchange? You were asked to provide an example of your assertion that open carry draws thug fire, but ignored it. If it were true, shouldn't that be somewhat common in your extensive background of law enforcement?

As for an opportunity to have this free and open exchange, we actually have several cops on this forum. None started their first posts in another state's experience thread with why we shouldn't be doing it in the first place. Tell me, did you hitch up your duty belt before you posted that? Because it would fit in so well with my mental image if you did.

Wow, you have a serious case of butt hurt. I expressed an opinion. Nothing more. Get over it.

Continuing to use insulting vulgarity in a public medium after being shown it is inappropriate.
An obvious failure to read (or follow) the terms of use of this private forum.
An obvious misapplication of a law intended to limit the government, and not private individuals.
Expressing off-topic opinions in the wrong place.
Continuing to evade the ensuing questions about his opinion.
Ordering others to ignore the above things happening right in front of them and to just move along.

Yep, typical cop. Do you actually wonder why there is a stereotype?

Good luck with your anger management counseling. If you have been offended by anything I have said, perhaps internet forums are not for you.

Ah, another redirection with a hint of attempt to invalidate by insinuating debilitating emotional involvement! At least we are getting some variety.

If you were a thug intent on committing some type of armed criminal act, who would you take out first? They guy you can clearly see who is armed and a potential threat. Besides, I like surprises. jus' sayin'

Here we go with this tired old argument. This is a open carry forum. There are plenty of other forums to talk about cc and forums for oath keepers. And even forums for police officers. Please go to those and leave us alone.

It's simply an opinion. Don't get all hurt about it. Show some tolerance.

Only an ignoramus would think using the word ignoramus was name calling. Hell, it's not even an insult, unless you were someone that SHOULD know the law, you know, like a cop.

I myself, for example, am an ignoramus when it comes to how best to eat a jelly donut.
Jelly donuts are easy. Key is to open wide and tilt forward so the jelly stays in the donut. Then tilt back and suck some jelly out. Then you can eat the rest without getting Schmutz on yourself.

Ignoramus no more my friend. Donut eating 101 baby. [emoji12]

Brought my son to The Range 702 after purchasing his first gun yesterday. He had to tag along at my "ladies night" but he didn't care. Just wanted to put some rounds through it. After, we went to the In N Out on Tropicana with both of us OCing. Lots of looks but no issues. And even had a chance to see another OCer.

You are correct. I think it is proper for law enforcement to be properly equipped to protect the public. My personal preference is to carry concealed and I am licensed to do so in all 50 states. If things go sideways, I'd prefer not to be a target before engaging the suspect?

How so? Presume LEOSA.

*Sigh* Please start a new thread if you wish to debate the mythical disadvantages of open carry. You might wish to start that thread with examples of where your proposed disadvantage actually occurred.

People who WANT to be in a gunfight have a definite advantage in carrying concealed, yes. No one disputes that.

That horse has been soundly beaten, repetitively. No single offered example has survived scrutiny.

While we welcome LEO to this forum, few will long abide a perceived attitude of I know what is best, I am better equiped to offer definitive conclusions, no matter from whomever.

Those that "Want to be in a gunfight" are aggressors, not everyday people carrying for their own defense.

Honestly, I wondered when the forum police would step in. Butthurt has been completely off topic entirely. NV OC: Where did you open carry and how did it go?

Yes we do often go off topic, but we don't start and stay there. It is obvious, no matter any validity of his argument, that he is simply trolling: a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who shows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

Went to Manan Bakery and Shish Kabob house on West Flamingo. Great pastries...went nuts, spent money, (sigh)! Great kabobs at the restaurant. No issues.

How I wish we had an "In and out Burger" here in Boise, Idaho. I sure could go for a double double, I am so envious right now.:(
