If you were a thug intent on committing some type of armed criminal act, who would you take out first? They guy you can clearly see who is armed and a potential threat. Besides, I like surprises. jus' sayin'

*Sigh* Please start a new thread if you wish to debate the mythical disadvantages of open carry. You might wish to start that thread with examples of where your proposed disadvantage actually occurred.

People who WANT to be in a gunfight have a definite advantage in carrying concealed, yes. No one disputes that.

I am simply stating my opinion. Sorry that upsets you.

IIRC, garand_guy made a very informative card and website which he posted for Nevadans to print off and refer individuals to, respectively.

Thank you!

I have found it's best not to argue with people who are argumentative or demonstrate, from the quality of their arguments or the way they attempt to communicate their thoughts an opinions, that they are not and will not be receptive to correct information. I simply state the truth and let them beat their heads against the wall.

If this guy wants to be a thug, he can be a thug (if he is one). You are boldly stating your commitment to defending your life openly, whereas this man presumably doesn't/can't/won't make that effort or does so in an illegitimate manner.

Now for those who do need education (cops, officials, or the ill-informed) or are receptive and want to know more, definitely give them the info, or my handy website below. <-That's exactly why I created my website and the info cards. The info cards are just a teaser and immediate gratification; the curious can pull up the mobile website immediately or look it up at home. Or, if I get into a jam with some not-so-nice cops, I can quote chapter and verse right from my phone, no fuss, no muss.

Oc'd at Jason's Deli in Summerlin's Boca Park yesterday with the wife. Nary an issue.

The wife and I went there Saturday, OC'd of course with no issues, anyhow I forgot how much I like that place. Hadn't been there for several years.

Just out of curiosity, why join an open carry forum if you don't agree with the topic of the forum?

To each their own, I feel there are definitely times when CC is preferable to OC. Generally I follow the "3 S Rule": Don't go to Stupid places with Stupid people and do Stupid things, my work doesn't always allow me to avoid Stupid places :banghead:

Thank you for putting the thread back on track, Raleigh. I should probably put more experiences in this thread, too, as my daily OC has been so uneventful for the last 22 years, that I just don't think of it as newsworthy.

I've got several regular spots in Boulder City, but tried a new one the other day: the Southwest Diner on Nevada Way, downtown. I was with some students from Boulder City, and it's one of their favorite spots. The food and service was great; even had a spontaneous conversation with a passerby on the sidewalk because he was wearing a Seattle Seahawks sweater.

At least I'm not "butt hurt" like the other guy. I've reported that post for insulting. Odd that a cop would be so unprofessional, isn't it?

Odd you claim to support the constitution but think a law enforcement officer is entitled to some lesser version of the first amendment.

Odd that a law enforcement professional thinks that the First Amendment has anything to do with a private forum. I take that back. It's not odd at all that you are an ignoramus in this regard.

Are you saying a cop can't be a troll? I may have to realign my radar... :D

I suppose he could be both, imagine getting stopped by a troll cop while OCing, that would be entertaining to say the least.

I feel the same way most of the time. It is just a normal day to carry everywhere I go (that I can carry that is)

Name calling? Better report your self.

Only an ignoramus would think using the word ignoramus was name calling. Hell, it's not even an insult, unless you were someone that SHOULD know the law, you know, like a cop.

I myself, for example, am an ignoramus when it comes to how best to eat a jelly donut.

One would think you would welcome an opportunity for a free and open exchange with one who has an extensive background in law enforcement. Very unfortunate you have chosen to make this adversarial. I support your gun rights 100%.
