Just fueled up at Smith's on Flamingo and Sandhill. Their diesel at 3.359 is currently almost 20 cents cheaper than the next cheaper stations! I filled several cans, as well. Even their gasoline is cheap at 3.269, but I don't look at gasoline prices often.

So I was at the pump for quite some time with a Condition 1 .45 on my hip, plus a couple trips to the window for the transaction.

As I was finishing, a gentleman filling a motor home was on the other side of my pump and it didn't bother him to strike up a conversation with me about diesel cans, diesel prices and some other stuff. He was from California.

I did a little revolver bowling pin match in the desert past Jean today with a few guys from Nevada Shooters. My teammate "loic" and I both OC'd in the parking lot of the Shell station in Jean where we met up. A state trooper complained to my teammate after he parked his open-doored Jeep. He thought there was a hole in his exhaust. He never mentioned our sidearms.

Everyone has a hole in their exhaust.

A friend and I went cruising around Reno last night. First we decided to walk around downtown to see what was happening,(nothing as usual, just a bunch of drunk people) and only thing that happened was a bunch of drunk guys thought it would be funny to talk crap to us after they passed us. Then we went to a 7-11 to get something to drink and the clerk asked if we were carrying real guns. We told her they were real and she said that only cops can carry guns. We tried to explain to her that it was completely legal for us to open carry but she insisted that it was illegal. We told her we wouldn't do it if it was illegal. We paid for our stuff and left. As we were getting in the car she got on the phone. Not sure who she was calling.

Too bad a few minutes later you did not got back in and ask, “So, what did you find out”?

Gas buddy .com also has phone APPs. You can easily find the cheapest fuel without driving around.

Went to zion national park with my Heritage .32 magnum because it has an external safety and it is a single action, so it follows utah's "two actions to fire" law. Waded through the narrows and through the sea of foreigners who cannot wrap their minds around someone carrying a gun. I dont understand the unloaded open carry only on the buses, so i popped the cylinder out (not so quietly) in the restroom before and put it back in after i got off the bus. I had an asian guy snap a photo of me on my strong side, didnt even know until my dad told me haha. No issues other than stares from people who have never seen a real gun in person

Carried at Rubio's, Hallmark cards, and Red Wing Shoes. Got some odd looks at Rubio's and a conversation was obviously taking place about me but unfortunately I don't speak spanish.

Also OC'd at Famous Daves and talked to the worker at the to go area about it. (He was more interested in CC, so I gave him that information as well as this website.)

Yep! That's how I found out about it. In fact, the price was so low, I drive over there half expecting that someone goofed on reporting it.

A single-action revolver already meets the requirements with no safety needed. The trigger pull counts as one of the actions.

If you have a permit, you can be fully loaded while OC'ing.

For Utah there is another part of the unloaded requirement with a SA revolver. That is there can be no live round under the hammer when the hammer is at rest.

It reads that there can't be a round "in firing position." But yours is the commonly accepted unofficial meaning, yes.

It is slightly different for a DA revolver and with the between chamber notch half way between rounds on a NAA revolver it doesn't even apply. Didn't want to throw too much out the about Utah in the Nevada forum-- even though it was about a national park in Utah.

I usually keep 5 in the cylinder and hammer under an empty one here in vegas with the safety off because its useless. I put 6 in when i went to utah and put on the safety. I always thought it was two actions THEN pull the trigger. Ill have to educate myself more on that. I was told to run 5 rounds in a wheelgun except in my new model ruger blackie. So i was carrying illegally?

Depends. Do you have a concealed carry permit? Utah recognizes one from any state or county in the US.

If yes, then you were fine to be fully loaded and no extra steps necessary before firing.

If no, then the safety was not necessary, but having a round under hammer was a no-no. Yes, we all know how ignorant the law is.

Also, for safety with all single-action revolvers that do not have a transfer bar or other hammer block safety, you are correct that you should never carry with a round under the hammer anyway.

I do not have a ccw. I did have the safety on for the same reason as having no round under the chamber. Its highly impossible that the safety would break and the hammer struck the primer if dropped. Im guessing the reason of that law is for the safety of bystanders or the person if a SA is dropped with a live round under the hammer without a hammer block.

No, there is no good reason for the law. UT is perhaps the most pro-gun state in the entire union, and this is just one of the little stupid things they have to deal with anyway. I don't know if they work toward fixing it or not. My guess is that all the gun people there have permits anyway so don't give it a high priority.

Jimmy John's Sandwich Shop @ Lake Mead & the 95 (Vegas). Older cashier lady asked me if I was a cop. I said no and that was the end of it. I was with a buddy grabbing some lunch before going shooting and didn't feel like explaining it - even if it had meant a possible discount, lol. I actually just spent a few weekend days explaining it to some friends and how "NO, it is not illegal". One mind at a time, right? Fwiw, I think the other workers must have told her that it was fine because she seemed fine a few minutes later and was the only one who didn't when I walked in.

Oh, and Discount Firearms again. My buddy just picked up 2 Ruger 9mm. His first two handguns. Now if only I can get him to oc.....

Hey, how come we don't have a banana icon sporting two pistols with his little dance? That'd be cool!

home depot on charleston near the 95 - no incident. I even had help from a few employees that I know for certain saw it (they were staring at it). Another beer at PTs, but this time there was a gentleman from NM that began a conversation with "So...why do you carry a gun?" He was surprised to find out that one can carry in a bar in NV as opposed to NM

Hometown, its a small cafe on the corner of Lake Mead and Water Street in Henderson. Wife, daughter and I OC, no problem. Good old fashion diner food to boot with very reasonable prices.

ha ha ha ha!

Until I read the quote for this line of thought, that had a totally different meaning in my head, being a gun forum.
