Jury in Conn. home invasion case reviews testimony

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_home_invasion

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Jurors deciding if a man convicted in a deadly Connecticut home invasion should be executed have asked to re-hear testimony from a psychiatrist who said the man flew into a rage at the time of the crime.
Steven Hayes was convicted last month of killing a Cheshire woman and her two daughters in 2007.
The New Haven jury weighing Hayes' sentence on Saturday asked to hear some of the cross-examination of Dr. Eric Goldsmith.
Goldsmith testified for the defense that Hayes was in an extreme emotional state triggered after another man accused in the crime, Joshua Komisarjevsky (koh-mih-sar-JEV'-skee), falsely told Hayes he had killed the girls. Hayes was convicted of sexually assaulting and strangling their mother, Jennifer Hawke-Petit.
Prosecutors said Hayes' own confession showed he knew the girls were still alive.

Yup, no need for one for that family. :banghead:

The perp is charged with murder and not with prohibited carry.

This has been my thought for a long time...has anyone ever been charged with prohibited carry ALONG with the committed crime? Probalby not, because probably NO ONE saw them with a concealed weapon...there would rarely IF EVER be obtainable evidence that the perp concealed anything...

2 men sought after woman attacked along Grant County road
By Associated Press

Nov. 8, 2010 7:52 p.m. | Lancaster — The Grant County Sheriff is looking for two male suspects after they say one physically and sexually assaulted a woman along the side of a county highway after her car broke down.
The 21-year-old woman pulled her vehicle over on Grant County Highway B near the town of Platteville about 2 a.m. Sunday. Authorities said another vehicle stopped behind her with two men in it, one of whom got out, approached the woman, assaulted her and left her lying on the side of the road.

Let's start to educate about repeal of 941.23 every chance we get!

By Associated Press....

A local story like this is a great opportunity to voice comments and start educating Wisconsin about repealing 941.23. Surf over to the comments and support what I started.

Young women who are out late at night by themselves need to develop a healthy sense of self-preservation and a plan to survive, because there are some bad people out there. Roll up the windows, lock the doors, and call for help immediately. This young lady is lucky to be alive.

She was basically defenseless because of Wisconsin's unconstitutional gun laws which, among other things, prevent carrying a loaded weapon in the car. Tell your legislators to repeal Wisconsin Statute 941.23 immediately in the new session to allow young ladies like this a fighting chance against bigger, stronger attackers by allowing concealed carry of defensive weapons.

Historically, whenever a state adopts concealed carry, violent crimes including rape are drastically reduced because a potential attacker doesn't know if his intended victim may have a gun. Even if you have no intention of carrying a weapon, fight to repeal 941.23 so that the bad guys aren't sure who is armed and who isn't; you will be safer and that's something we all want. All of us except the criminals, that is....

Governor-elect Walker has stated on the record that he will support and sign a repeal of 941.23 if it comes across his desk; let's make sure that it does. The citizens of Wisconsin deserve the same chance at survival and self-protection that the people of the 48 other states already have. Please SUPPORT REPEAL OF 941.23!

UW-S student charged with threat at basketball game

Athletic Director Missy Skurzewski told police she saw Joseph in the gym with a friend before a basketball game Friday and asked him to leave. Joseph claimed he had gotten permission from an administrator, sparking an animated exchange.
Joseph started to leave, then turned around in front of the crowded bleachers, looked at Skurzewski and said, “I’m going to kill you, dog.”

Home Invasions in Wisconsin??? So it ain't so !!!

http://www.channel3000.com/news/25857761/detail.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Condon#Invade_a_Home_and_Invite_a_Bullet

Well if we had an Attorney General that actually had the balls to step up and make a statement like the AG of South Carolina did maybe we wouldn't have these types of incidents going on here in Wisconsin.

In 2001 SCAG Charlie Condon stood up for the people of his state and said,"I'm putting home invaders on notice that if an occupant chooses to use deadly force, there will be no prosecution."

To bad our AG does not have the courage to do the same. If one AG can do it they all can. I guess some just understand the constitution more than others.

Some states ignore the fact that they are natural followers. Let's pray we follow the JUST path.
