Picking 2 fights at the same time may not be the best way to get a point across. Educating the public by carrying open is tainted when you butt heads with the local LEOs. Don't forget that we need to educate them also....;)

Refusing to show ID on the grounds that "you don't have to" is not the wayto remain on the good side of the police whos job it is to respondwhen someone calls about a man with a gun. Cooperate with them and they will be more likely to cooperate with us. EVERYTHING is political. We need to work smart not hard.

This argument is well encapsulated by the epithet Law Enforcement Officer. Better they be called Peace Officers or Constables On Patrol.

They are public servants. We have only the Rights that we defend.

Either we are equal or we are not. Good people ought to be armed where they will, with wits and guns and the truth.

We both know what the reality is. Because we are a nation of laws, the Police have become LEOs by default. Because there is little respect for the law and at the same time there are those with a sense of entitlement whodesire for the LEOs to do their bidding in every minor disagreementthey have with fellow citizens, the role of Police Officers is less than ideal.

All I am saying is that there is a time for action and there is a time for restraint of action. Itmay not make sense to fight every battle every time. Escalating a confrontation may not always make sense.

POLICE REPORTS: July 20 By Journal Times staff Monday, July 20, 2009 6:05 PM CDT

RACINE

Couple robbed of medication

Racine police said a couple inside a home in the 1000 block of Washington Avenue was robbed Sunday night when they opened the door to a man with a gun instead of the company they were expecting.

Reports said the 40-year-old woman and 57-year-old man heard a noise at the door around 10 p.m. They told police they were waiting for friends to come over, so the woman went to answer the door.

The suspect, holding a silver handgun, forced his way into the house, reports said. He asked for someone by name and then went to a bedroom in the home, according to police.

The couple told officers the suspect took a medication bag that contained the man’s cancer and pain medications, and left.

The suspect was described as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s, 150 to 160 pounds and approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black baseball hat, black mask, black hoodie, black pants and leather gloves.

Man assaulted at Popeye’s

A 40-year-old man was struck in the head with a gun Friday night after a confrontation with two suspects outside Popeye’s restaurant, 920 Washington Ave., according to Racine police.

Reports said the man believed the two suspects were responsible for burglarizing his residence on an earlier date and saw them outside his home on Friday. The victim told police he yelled at the two men to get off his property.

At 11:39 p.m. the man walked to Popeye’s to get a soda and was confronted by the two suspects, reports said. An employee of the restaurant saw the men arguing, and at some point the fight went into the restaurant.

The victim was punched and then struck in the head with a gun, witnesses told police. He suffered a laceration to his head and was taken by Racine rescue to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints hospital, 3801 Spring St.

A description of the offenders by witnesses led police to arrest one of the suspects. Marquan L. Washington, 17, of 1204 10th St., was arrested on charges of aggravated battery. No detailed description was available for the other suspect.

RACINE

Man stabbed during attempted robbery

Racine police said a 34-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder Sunday night during an attempted robbery in the 1400 block of Douglas Avenue.

Reports said the victim had just left the Winner’s Circle, 1403 Superior St., and was walking to his vehicle, when the suspect grabbed him. The victim told police he refused to give the suspect anything and they began to fight.

The man was stabbed in the shoulder during the altercation — the weapon was not identified in reports. He was then taken to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints hospital, 3801 Spring St., by his girlfriend.

From the hometown of the anti-personal defense elitistsJim Doyle and Tammy Baldwin:

A 45-year-old Madison man was mugged Saturday night while walking behind an apartment building on the city's south side.

A 20-year-old Madison man suffered abrasions to his face, neck and back early Thursday morning after losing a pizza and cell phone to half a dozen muggers on the city's isthmus.

Of course Doyle and Baldwin do not have to worry about such inconveniences of life, theyare not part of the unwashed masses.

Doyle is anti gun but he likes his armed security. Isn't that typical of corrupt politicians? But I wish he would forgo his security detail and spend one night in Madison delivering pizza from 9pm-1am and he may have a different outlook on carrying a gun. MAYBE....

Absolutley no description of the perpetrators or the victims listed in the article? But we do have a small clue to their identity by the address of the incident. In that area of the city, the shooting could have been over something as trivial as a chicken wing.

Third Riverwest Shooting in July
Another shooting has happened in the Riverwest neighborhood, the third time that a young adult has been shot in that area in the last 22 days. This shooting happened near the corner of North Weil Street and West North Avenues just after 12:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. The victim, 21, is expected to survive. The previous shootings resulted in murders of students attending UWM. Milwaukee Police say that in Tuesday's incident, someone shot the 21-year-old man in the right knee during an armed robbery attempt. The victim told officers that he was walking with his girlfriend in an alley on the 2300 block of North Weil Street. Two men, described as being between 20 and 25 years old and wearing black t-shirts and black shorts, demanded the man's back pack. He refused, and they allegedly shot him. His girlfriend was not hurt. Earlier this month, UWM students Nathan Potter and Jontae Woodley were shot and killed. Police are still looking for the killers in those murders, as they are searching for the suspects in this case.
seems like if your walking in Riverwest you need to be walking at low ready :what:

Indeed! If you aren't carrying in Riverwest you are rolling the dice with your life/safety.

When MayorBarrett talks about not needing a gun in Milwaukee, what the hell is he thinking?

Maybe he should leave the bodyguard at home and go for a walk through riverwest alone at night and see just how safe milwaukee is.:cuss:

And from the hometown of Wisconsin's elitist governor:

Two men attacked in home

Two men were attacked inside their home on the east side early Tuesday morning, with one suffering a broken eye socket and the other getting stabbed, Madison police reported.

The attack happened about 1 a.m. in an apartment in the 2200 block of Independence Lane.

Madison police said the injuries were non-life threatening, and the attack did not appear to be a random act.

The suspects, two black men and two white men, knocked on the door of the apartment and barged into the residence when the door was opened.

"They battered both victims with an object," said Lt. John Radovan. "One victim suffered a fractured orbital bone and the other was stabbed twice."

The case remains under investigation.

Police probing Saturday night Allied Drive gunshots

Shots were fired on Allied Drive Saturday night, but by the time police arrived, the shooter had vanished.

The gunfire was about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 2300 block of Allied Drive, Madison police reported.

A Madison police officer on routine patrol heard seven or eight shots being fired.

"He saw a group of people quickly move out of the area," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. "When he went to investigate, he could smell burnt gunpowder in the air but he found no shell casings and didn't see the shooter.

Another example of how the police are only minutes away and a practical application of how that nutty microstamping legislation now being considered and being pushed hard byDoyle, theMilwaukee politicans and Flynn will really work.

And be out and about the rest of us common folk :what::p. It is easy to condem something that you don't have to worry about. Better yet maybe he should just ONCE sit down and talk with people who believe in the RKBA. (I know, I know, wishful thinking :banghead:)

Thats a sad story, if he was armed OC maybe the story would have been told differently.Man attempts to steal classic car, but flee's when confronted by the owner that was OC his pistol.....Yet, if we all open carry it will be the wild west all over again. The only thing that happened in the wild west was, outlaws got hung in the town square the next day. We need this type o punishment now.

An armed society is a very polite society.

What a shame this person had to be another victim.
