Whitner's BBQ off Lynnhaven is good... but I'm not originally from the South, so please, don't anyone chastise me if that's incorrect for Southern BBQ. lol I've OC'd there multiple times with no issues, as well.
Have heard of that place, always wanted to try it but don't seem to make it out to that area often. Guess I'll have to try.

I open carried this evening in a restaurant names Smoke. Lots of smoked meats and BBQ with all the fixins. I sat strong side out. Nobody made a peep. No issue. Good food by the way. I recommend the brisket. The restaurant is on Warwick Blvd. near the Harpersville intersection. It is in the building that used to be bill's seafood.

I got my first actual "comment'' yesterday. Cashier at Food Lion whilst I was digging through my wallet....
Cashier: something something "GUN"
Me: "I'm sorry?"
Cashier: "is that a real gun?"
Me: oh yes ma'am very much so."
Cashier: "oh. I've just never seen anyone carry one like that."
Me: "In a holster?"
Cashier: no just, you know, carrying one..."
Me: "well Virginia is an open carry state, many people OC just not in this area"
Cashier: "oh OK. Have a nice day!"

Yes sir. CC seems surprisingly OC friendly. I have had no issues. Been OCing on my bike as well whenever weather permits

You tried to reason with an unreasonable person. Thats usually the result... :shocker:
Conversing with someone like that is not just about educating that one person. It is also about any and all within hearing who will hear the facts. Teaching in one classsroom can instruct many.
Just do so with a calm and controlled demeanor + ending the lesson with a smile and a "Have a nice day."
Some are much better at that than others I realize my limitations in that regard, and will leave those sort of discussions with unreasonable people... to others. :uhoh:
That said, I don't mind a discussion with rational people, even if they don't share my viewpoints but are at least willing to listen (and not jump right into the typical name calling, etc). That does not appear to be the sort of discussion that was mentioned a couple posts back.

Been OC-ing around town the last couple days. Japan Samurai, Domino's Pizza, LGC, Tropical Smoothie, Walmart no issues.

OCed to the Norfolk gun show. With a zip tie of course lol. Good show
Got pulled over on the way there. I was a passenger. OCing on my right hip. I kept my hands in plain view, never mentioned it and nothing was said. Pretty sure he didn't see it, but no one got hurt and it was no big deal...imagine that........
