Eh. Whatever. I'm kinda done arguing the color of the window shades in a burning building.

Sorry if I offended folks here. Just speaking my heart.

Just an observation, you guys need to toughen up. Our enemy hates us and what we stand for with a passion and will use your squishyness against you with glee. Listen, evaluate, decide on a course of personal action and then move on.

Gun rally should be about guns, freedom rally about freedom....

Not a political stage for republicans (or democrats), nor prayer time (for any religion).

Two things I don't like shoved down my throat... religion and partisan politics. This rally had both.

That being said, I want to thank Jim and the sponsors for helping out. I dutifully manned the OCDO table with a few other OCDO'ers and was able to educate quite a few people..

I will admit I tuned everything out about 5 mins into it, as it became god 'this' and republican 'that'.

I am going to use you as an example; I saw TW show up at the rally I literally watched TW walk into the rally, in less than a minute I heard TW ask why no one was manning the OCDO booth when he really did not get a response from anyone he immediately went over and manned the booth himself. He saw something that needed done and jumped right in the middle of it and handled it. Actions like this are why OCDO kicks butt on putting on these rallies. My hat is off to you Sir thank you for stepping up.

Well said Sir. We need to toughen up and learn to pull together. Pulling together sometimes means supporting the other guy kinda like marriage sometimes you go to the opera when you really want to go drink beer and shoot pool with your buddies.

We need to stop bitching about how a rally was put on or who spoke about what and be happy that we were all there. Freedom is correct here our enemy's hate us and they will use our weaknesses at every opportunity. Stand together or we will all fall, tolerate the other guys need for a little prayer and the other way around too. Learn a little respect for your fellow 2A supporters.

BTW you did not offend me nor has anyone else here.

Strangely enough, I think this response is perfect. When faced with a common threat, we band together and show our support as a untied front to the world. Later, when we get home, we have discussions and free discourse about what we did and didn't like about it. Next time we band together out in public, it will be with a better understanding of our brothers and sisters in arms and once again united.

But then again, I'm a little strange.

BTW, good to meet you yesterday Orphan and TW.

Everyone here complaining and saying how "this speakers words were divisive" needs to look in the mirror a minute. Was it his words that are divisive, or your inability to look past the words and simply work together towards the common goal?

I'll just quote myself because I think it's worth repeating. We all need to look hard at ourselves before criticizing others. Especially if you wish to accomplish something.

First of all like to thank those who put this on and the support of all in attendance.

"We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." Benjamin Franklin

I attended the rally and enjoyed seeing so many folks come out on a cold day to support the 2nd amendment. I spent years serving our country to allow folks to speak their minds and to agree to disagree. There were many things said by the speakers that I disagree with in my personal beliefs. My issue was that however passionate the speakers were about their words, the day was supposed to be about the 2nd amendment. Their choice of words was in my opinion divisive, rather than inclusive. There were many statements by the various speakers that rang the bell of "The One True Way". Yesterday should have been about how we all need to pull together.

I believe in a secular government, that any given individual belief's in God, Allah, Jehovah, Buddha, Wicca, or some other less well published variation, should have nothing to do with the written laws or actions of the Government. The founders in general chose inclusive language for their written documents: "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God"; "endowed by their Creator"; "Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

Feel free to infuse yourself with whatever belief or moral system you wish to accept, but when you discuss the government remember that the basis for our Government is to allow, we the people, the freedom to practice/worship/or just live freely with the inalienable rights that are the part and parcel of all Men.

And those who want to accomplish something should be open for constructive criticism, it was a great rally, and massive show of support, but many folks tuned out as soon as the discussions were being turned to religion and party politics.

I found myself forced to walk away on more than one occasion due to the topics wandering to religion and other things. I was not attending church. I was attending a human rights event.

Well, I couldn't attend, but it looked like a good event. So, in lieu of not being able to make the rally, I purchased another handgun.

My point is that the speeches aren't what gets the message to our legislators. It's our numbers. If you have to tune out, who cares? The speakers are only there to preach to the choir. The fact that we can assemble such a large choir is the important part. My point is to not take yourself out of the game just because someone said something you don't agree with. I think we all agree that they have the right to say whatever the hell they want to. We were there to protect rights, all of them.
