In my opinion I think it would be a better use of our time to simply shop elsewhere, and put our time and effort into getting Constitutional Carry passed. After that has passed, and all sorts of law biding citizens start carrying (the ones that don't wish to OC) and realize they can't in FF. It will have a much greater impact, and then maybe FF will review their policy.

+1

There are so many other companies that carry what they carry so shop someplace else. I try to buy local so Fleet Farm would work or Tractor Supply.

Picketing would only be effective if it was sustainable. Even then I don't think it would be a wise use of man power. We have bigger battles to fight right now with pushing for Constitutional Carry. I'm not saying we should give up trying to change their policy, but I think the bulk of our time should be spent trying to push our legeslators toward CC. After we get concieled carry by whatever means we will have more stores making snap decisions to toss up signs that we will have to try and educate.

Also we shouldn't use F&F when describing Farm and Fleet, its a disservice to Fleet Farm who I belive allows open carry and has great values and F&F tire world who I think is competitive with Farm and Fleet's service dept. <= insert smily here, I can't figure it out with my phone :)

I disagree. If you have enough people there to draw media attention, then it's worth it. It would show all the other gun owners in WI how F&F "respects" their rights.

I see pro's and con's of picketing.

First, I wish EVERY person who walked in their stores knew of their anti-rights policy. I know you shouldn't ask stores to post signs, but I wish Farm and Fleet would post EVERY store because I believe they'd get ALOT more pushback from people who don't even know they are anti-rights.

I mean heck, if a SENTRY store in WAUWATOSA takes down their no-guns sign due to public pressure a Farm and Fleet in a rural area would for sure.

The positive of picketing would be more attention to the issue.

The negative is that picketing would be perceived as aggressive and imposing our will on others. I think for WCI, in this situation we'd rather (from the organization's position) just let the free market play and voice our displeasure with our $.

They were going to review their policy, we let them know how their customers felt. There is nothing aggressive or imposing about that. The message back to us was loud and clear "they don't care".

WCI does respect the right of Farm and Fleet to have whatever policy they want. We don't think they made a VERY unwise business decision, but time will tell.

I have taken my business elsewhere.

I support anyone's choice to picket stores, but as an organization I don't think WCI would participate in picketing.

But as individuals! Have at it!

If its a "protest" day, maybe a different location a week (during busy times christmas perhaps) I could see the value of the media attention and raising awareness, that would be a great idea but I wouldn't call it a picket. For an actual picket to work, in my mind you need to have people there everyday all day until whoever you are picketing bends. I'm not a union guy so i'm not sure exactly how it works :)

I posted on their facebook page yesterday how I enjoyed carrying according to state and federal law and what did they do? They removed me from their page and deleted my comment. Good job Blain's! I will see you never see a penny from me.

Farm and Fleet

I was in the Baraboo Farm and fleet a week ago or so and talked to the clerk (on my way out) about open carry, and she said they had a meeting and the gun could not be concealed. Not a problem. I was there this morning as well with no problem. I have not read this entire thread. I was in the Baraboo F&F
May be I slithered in and out.
I will review the entire thread tomorrow.
