It is not acceptable to inquire about eating members of Saslaw's Courts of Justice sub-committeefor gun bills.

Plus, I doubt Jim Sollo or any of the VA Chapter of Million Moms would taste all that good.

I can't vouch for it myself, but I've heard they do Ostrich and the like there.

Note according to their menu they don't.

We have hunts regularly - similar to snipe hunts, but bigger.

Rainy, moonless nights are best so they can neither see or smell you so easily.

If you'd like to go sometime, I sure we can arrange to put you on a stand.

Got this:

Please accept my apologies for the delayed response. Thank you very much
for taking time to share your concerns with us.

The firearm policy you have read online pertains to only 'corporate'
Fuddruckers locations and not any of our franchise owned locations. The
location you have selected in your email is a franchise owned location
and all franchise owners have the right to set their own restaurant
policies.

Regarding the open carry laws, Fuddruckers decision not to allow guns in
the restaurants is not a statement about gun rights or laws. It is
however, a statement about the primary importance of creating and
maintaining a comfortable environment for all of Fuddruckers guests.

Fuddruckers has had a 'no weapons' policy for several years but it
wasn't being enforced in all locations. By enforcing its 'no weapons'
policy, Fuddruckers is enforcing its rights as a private business to
create the sort of dining environment we believe best suits and appeals
to all or the majority of our guests.

On behalf of Fuddruckers, Inc., we sincerely appreciate your time and
feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that you will no longer visit
Fuddruckers.

Fuddruckers has hosted them for us out west here in Utah as well. In fact, I'm in the picture that Kevin Jensen posted. Let's hope they realize just how much business they're losing. Perhaps we should ask them the number of complaints they get about visible weapons? "Well, none, but people are thinking it!"

This is the one I got too.

Let's hope the "delayed response" is because she's getting so much communication that she doesn't have time to do any other part of her job. (Like this isn't automated, eh?)

I informed them I don't feel comfortable UNarmed ...

I finally got theexactsame "delayed response" in which they said they were "truly sorry to hear that will no longer visit Fuddruckers." I basically take thisas a "Screw you. We don't want your business anyway."

Unless VCDL has better luck getting them to change their minds, I don't plan on going back. I really hate it for the folks at the Annandale Fudds; they were always pretty good to us.

You should make an effort to photograph the group at every meeting held at an alternate location.

Then drop it by the general manager.

Let them know that "corporate policy" is costing them X amount of money. Tell them that those people are telling ten people each not to ever patronize Fuddruckers and those ten people will also tell ten people each.

Money talks.

David Codrea weighs in:

Fuddruckers to Gun Owners: Fuddruck You

WarOnGuns Correspondent Mike S sent me the following policy and I have confirmed it with Fuddrucker's/KooKooRoo Chicken Bistro management:
Regarding the open carry laws, Fuddruckers decision not to allow guns in the restaurants is not a statement about gun rights or laws. It is however, a statement about the primary importance of creating and maintaining a comfortable environment for all of Fuddruckers guests.

Open carry laws are changing in various states. Therefore, restaurants are more clearly communicating their policies to guests. Fuddruckers has had a no weapons policy for several years but it wasn't being enforced in all locations. By enforcing its no-weapons policy, Fuddruckers is enforcing its rights as a private business to create the sort of dining environment we believe best suits and appeals to all or the majority of our guests.
OK, fine. Fuddruck you, too.

They believe the majority of their guests prefer to be willing potential victims of crime?

How curious. To that end, thank God I'm not now nor have I ever been (save for one instance in the early '90s) a customer of Ruckfudders.

Point of note: Codrea is a featured speaker at the "Restore the Constitution Rally" at Fort Hunt/Gravelly Point on April 19.

I got a very nice email from Jesse Liera today, the owner/operator of Fuddruckers Utah.

Here is his response to "corporate" before contacting me.

From: "Jesse Liera"
To: feedback@fuddruckers.com
Subject: RE: Fuddruckers Guest Feedback #303
Date: Thu, 8 Apr 2010 15:06:10 -0600

Hello everyone,

We allowed one of these groups to dine at Sandy after their local meeting and they were actually a fun and well behaved group. (See pics on his 2nd link) I was surprised at how diverse the group was. From guys and gals to kids and grandparents. For me it was $700 in sales for the final hour of what is usually my slowest night.

I am not sure how to respond to this gentleman since he is from Utah but he is referring to the Fuddruckers on Duke Street in Alexandria (see link 1).

Please let me know your recommendation since I would welcome them back here anytime.

Thanks!

Jesse Liera
Team Utah

And here is is first response to me...

Dear Mr. Jensen,

I am writing back to let you know your groups are always welcome at my Utah locations. If corporate enforces this then I will be happy to section off part of the restaurant and allow you to hold a private event. As a franchisee, I am required to follow all Fuddruckers Corporate policies and procedures. I do have some say so on the private events I host.

Please feel free to contact me directly should you have other questions or suggestions.

Thanks!

I eamiled him back, thanking him for his kind words and hospitality.

Eh. Or not.

Part of OC dinners, in my opinion, is the fact that they are generally NOT private events. I don't like the "sure sure I can break the rules and hush you off to a side or back room for my bottom line benefit and for you to pay for an overpriced burger." OC does not require, nor necessitate, special accomodations.

The message that needs to be sent is "Yes, you are hurting yourself by doing this." not "Yes, we are offended by the decisions of corporate but we will still give them money by way of this location.... which they assume is enforcing the anti-gun rules and thus we are not sending any message whatsoever."

This is the same crap that some people don't get about Buffalo Wild Wings, and I don't get why it seems hard to grasp.
