If we go to Olive Garden I will not be able to carry in with you guys. Because I work for them I fall under the 'no guns for employees' policy that is in effect. However, I am still fine with going there if that is what everyone else wants.

Why don't we plan on shooting first then eating later - that way we can have daylight to shoot in and when it gets dark, we can eat.

I was unaware your policy applied while off the clock...I thought you might get a kick out of going there. :) We should pick a place we can all carry though. Shooting first is fine with me. I'm still pretty new to the area, I'll let you guys choose a meeting place then.

Greetings fellow idahoans!

I am new to the forum, and as of now, do not open carry (or carry at all for that matter =p). Through my experiences with Indianaboy and my personal interests in the defense of myself and my family to be, i have grown interested.

Indianaboy had let me know that some of his community had arranged a day to go shooting, and had advised me that he would check to see if i am welcome to come along. If so, i do not own my own firearm, but i am more than willing to pick up some ammunitions... any specific types that we may need more than others?

Also, i will be looking for a firearm of my own soon, so any and all advise will be appreciated.

I have read over many posts here and am very excited to join such a helpful and upstanding community.

/pray that i can get the 20th off ^_^

Thanks again.

Buy .223/5.56x45, 9mm, 45 ACP, for sure. Those 3 will be represented. 7.62x39 and .40 S&W might as well.

No body will have any problems with helping bring a new shooter into the fold, if you treat all the guns with respect. We will be more than happy to let you at least pick up the various types of guns so you can see what fits your hands.

Oh and with ammo prices on .223/5.56x45 going up, that would really really be nice. (Wolf Ammo doesn't count in .223/5.56x45)

Yes, folks, just to clarify, we're still on for the 20th of this month -- we'll meet up around 1pm for shooting south of Boise proper, shoot until it gets too dark or too cold or we all agree, then head over to a place to eat. I had mentioned a pizza place because I'm really partial to pizza. Flying Pie on State is good eats, IMO. I really have no preferences though. I love thai and I enjoy tex-mex, italian, and the standard American fare. I generally don't care for Chinese, but if anyone has a good restaurant to go to, I'd be willing to try it out.

Olive Garden works too, but if it is limiting to one of our group, then maybe we should pick another place.

I'm also thinking I may need a ride (depending on weather mainly), so if anyone is willing, I live near to Glenwood and State.

1pm...meeting where?

I got the day officially approved from my boss. I'm only bringing my snub 357, so if anyone wants to try it out, some 38 specials or 357's would be good to buy. I'll try to have a bit extra on hand.
