What??? Next thing I know you'll be telling us you're laying down hay...

Yes, I peeked in the other thread. Stop by anyway. A man's gotta eat!

Colorado Springs Car-Pool from I-25 & Woodman Park-N-Ride

Folks, I can't make the after-lunch shooting event as I'm meeting a friend for a housewarming party Sat afternoon.

However, I CAN make the lunch! Help me out, though - I've got three extra seats in my full-cab truck, comfortable ones, mind you, and the milage is the same whether they're filled or not. Please fill them! But let me know here in this thread so I can post a list.

I'll be at the I-25 & Woodman Park-N-Ride not later than 10:35, and will be leaving at 10:45 to make the noon OC meet. Gas will cost me $24 round trip, so how about we split that four ways?

I drive a black Ford Explorer Sport-Track. Yes, it's a full-sized cab. Good stereo, too. Quiet enough for easy conversation, and I play good music.

Only one accident in 500,000 miles of driving...

You can tell I'm really trying to sell this. I need riders to defray the cost so I can attend.

I will update my list. Looks like we will have quite a nice turn out! For those of you down in the Springs, Since9 is looking for 3 people to carpool with, pitch in some gas $, enjoy the drive and conversation! About shooting afterwards, I am not sure I will be able to go sling some lead, due to a family emergency. I will be at the meet up for sure! See you all soon! I'm really excited!

Well, glad you finally found us. Better late than never I suppose... Most of the folks here are real friendly sorts and happy to share the information we've collected.

Hopefully you'll be able to join us the next time we get together. Until then.

Hello Folks!

For those coming Sat, please be at GC by 11:30 or at least PM M-Taliesin or myself if you will be late, as we need to give a head count to the manager at least 30 minutes before Noon! Also, bring a trash bag too!

I'm really hoping the trash bag is for the shooting fun afterward. I really hope they have adequate recepticles there at the resteraunt. I really hope we don't need twenty garbage bags to help wrap up bodies or something...

Ok, I give up. Trash bag???

Give up too.

I've looked at all posts and haven't found anyone to carpool from the Springs area, so I'll have to pass on this one (WAAAHHH!!!!!). Just a simple matter of finances.

On the other hand, I've developed a short class on on aspect, urban combat, of advanced handgun techniques, if anyone's interested, and will offer it as par for the course for anyone at the next Colorado Springs B&B (breakfast and bang) event. It's an amalgam of various government agency qualification courses, but condensed into a simple, easy, yet hard-hitting flow anyone can learn.

I should be charging for this stuff...

Up later, retention techniques. That'll be held in a private location where we can practice in a safe manner while working on some related things as well.

I'm out. I got done working a 24 hour shift at 2am. Then I had to take kids to soccer game. Now it's laundry, cleaning and family deal later. I guess I can sleep when I'm dead, right?

Yep. I got plenty of time to be laid back when I'm six feet under ground.

I'm leaving Lakewood now, see the rest of you in a few.

Sorry, my event did not get over until after 1:00. How'd it go?

It went well! There were around 11 of us and the place was packed! There should be some posts up soon. I just got home from the forest, no one was able to go shooting, so it was just me and my bro-in-law. I need to recover for a bit as we hiked miles just wandering around taking pics of the fall colors. Did a bit of shooting too. I'm going to post in a bit about the best positive OC encounter so far I had today at the NF. Time to grab a cold one, and relax! it's been a good day!

Howdy Folks!
The OC meet today was great! Good people, reasonable food, and enjoyable discussions about OC'ing and legal issues.
Those of you that could not make this one missed a really good one.

Thanks to everybody who did show up, we managed to take up 3 tables all slid together, and guess we had about 11 souls join the festivity.
While Keens was going to take folks up to the National Forest to shoot, nobody was able to tag along that far out of town.
I personally had a date to find myself some gold, which I did handsomely by the way with a 10k gold bracelet and a 10k gold earring on the afternoon. I like gold. I like it even better when I take the check I get for selling gold and buy a new gun! LOL!

This was an excellent meet-up and I hope there will be more coming along. This was totally fun!

Sorry, I totally got absorbed in visiting with everybody and neglected to take any photos!

Maybe next time!

Blessings,
M-Taliesin

It was great seeing all of you again & meeting the new additions. I did miss some of our COS friends - what happened guys?

I'll post a new thread tomorrow about the details on the alternate HR bill we were discussing regarding reciprocity. It may have been discussed elsewhere, but I haven't found it yet.

Thanks & we really need to try that shooting & BBQ idea that was suggested.

Oh, hell yeah! Great idea. Now have you checked on their attitude about armed groups of folks dropping by to break bread?

No, not yet! Today was a day of driving up Guanella Pass doing some photography of the fall colors, then a bit of fishing at Clear Lake. I was with my sister, BIL, and their two young 'uns! The kids started getting rowdy after 5 hours of siteseeing we just needed to head back! While I could have made a quick stop at BeauJo's, I've already got a headache from the young ones screaming in the car! I'm going back that way this week anyways since I'm on vacation, so I'll stop by and talk to them.
