Guys,

For those of us that can't (for whatever reason) make a hike to shoot, there are other options not too far from the national forest location being discussed. The primary difference is you can drive right up to your shooting area & it is a recognized area for shooting. The downside is that it may have more competition on weekends.

Here is the link for the proposed location:
Coordinates: 39.428958, -105.332684, Bing Link: http://tinyurl.com/63bev9h

Here is where I have been shooting before. If you use the birdseye view, you will be able to see the parking & shooting area.
Coordinates: 39.329385,-105.250397, Road: NF-528G, Bing Link: http://tinyurl.com/63bmunr

If I have the original location correct, this other location is not that far away & could get more of us older guys going.

Here is the comparison: http://tinyurl.com/5rljfx4

Thoughts?

That's down by Deckers and a bit of a drive! Not a problem for me, I'm pretty positive I can borrow a Honda Odyssey, I just don't think most folks have that kind of time. It's not a problem for me, as I go on vacation starting that Sat for 10 days. Edit: I see you posted a link for another location near Pine, that isn't far at all!

6 days left!

Hello Folks! Tonight I'm going to write down "confirmed" for Golden Corral, I sure hope some more folks will join! So far, it's about 8-10 people! Let's get some more! As far as going shooting after lunch, that is still being worked on, and your feedback helps a lot! We are just looking for a good spot in the National Forest to accommodate young and old! And not too far away.

See you Saturday!

+1?

I might try to drag my Sister-In-Law along. My wife pretty much hates guns and my sister in law likes shooting but is not yet a gun nut, I need to fix at least one of them. I won't know about her for sure until about 11:00am on Saturday she is too much of a non-planner.

No takers yet.

Howdy Amigo!
I had a glance at that forum, and was surprised about an air of hostility there, especially as pertains to some of their moderators. I don't know the story behind all that, but wow, there is real obvious tension happening on that forum.

If any of them do decide to come, I hope they'll be amiable folks, such as yourself.
While I don't know the background of the problems there, ergo cannot comment on that umbrage, I'd hope to have a real nice meet up without the drama I saw there.

Blessings,
M-Taliesin

The tension is not about COGO. It's about another Colorado forum. People are venting about it on COGO.

I'm still in with two for lunch, but it looks like we can't do the follow-on shooting event. Maybe next time on shooting, but looking forward to reconnecting with everyone at lunch.

Looking good so far though :D

We would like to see you there! We just need to give the manager at GC a head count 30 minutes before, so please PM me or M-T if you go!

This is looking to be a really nice turnout!

I'm going to need to stop by GC tmw and talk to the manager, as this event is bigger than anticipated! LOL!

*update* Just as I posted this, I got a text from my sister and mom that my Grandma is on a Flight for life helicopter to Denver for emergency open heart surgery. And not looking good
