Thank You

Thank you - MKEGAL for exercising your NRA Certified Firearms Instructor - Pistol Rating - and serving as my assistant instructor during the NRA Class and also helping out during the UT CFP Course by taking the roll and doing numerous other tasks to make my job easier.

Thank you - Joe from Tri-State Self Defense - www.TriSatateSelfDefense.com - for providing fingerprint services. And, a special THANKS to Joe for providing his expert fingerprint services for no fee. (For that, I waived Joe's fee for the UT CFP Course.)

Thank you students - for being generous in tipping my friend who owns the hanger and provided the hamburgers, some of the chips, and the soda. With your generosity, they broke even on this event. Thank you too for "spreading the word". I expected only a maximum of 15 students. Over 25 attended and while I expected to loose money on this class due to the extremely low fees, after paying my expenses for the 3000 mile round trip, I will be able to buy myself dinner when I get back to Utah.

Thanks to MKEGal for helping out.

Thanks to Outdoorsman1 and civilwarguy for letting me test 'drive' some firearms.

Thanks to Joe for donating his fingerprinting skills.

Overall, it was a good day.

I wanted to also thank Handy Hamlet for letting me use his firearm. Thanks also to MKEGAL for helping me out. Can not wait to try again.
:D

Please. It was my pleasure. You did amazingly well. Looking forward to getting another group together too.

Have to say the whole day was a trip. Hanging out surrounded by the old timers and their planes/restoration projects was very cool. :)

I also have to say thanks to the Yellow Cat and his friends for doing this on a Monday AND a holiday. This was huge for me. As always it was cool to chill with the usual suspects. It was a pleasure to meet some new faces as well.

Special thanks to MKEGAL, Joe the fingerprint guy, oak1971 and outdoorsman1. It is always impressive for me to see like minded people pull together and hang out. Everyone was very generous. It was wicked fun shooting those .45s (civilwarguy :))!

Several steps closer to Nov 1.

Great day of training!

It was a long, information packed day and I'm am very thankful to Yellow Cat and MKEgal for giving us the training, to Joe for his finger printing services, and to Outdoorsman1 for waiting patiently for us to arrive at the range. I had long considered taking both of these courses, but always abstained due to the cost. It was a great blessing to be able to get both of these course for half of what ONE usually cost. The qualifying at the range was great. paulswife shot incredibly well for her first time at a range. Now Paul will have to buy another "firearm" AND learn to sleep with one eye open. It was great to meet several of the regulars from this forum and make some new friends. If there is anyone else that visits this forum and is in need of training, I highly recommend getting your training from Yellow Cat.

No, no, no... you can sleep more soundly because now you can both help defend the home / family, so you don't have to be always on alert.
(Unless, of course, you're making more cracks about her being short...) :shocker:

 :monkey Wonderful! Couldn't have a better outcome.
You did well for your first time shooting.
So have you decided whether to get your own new gun, or just take the 9mm you were shooting today & make Paul get another?

A long day, but it was good to see everyone, meet new people, & even though I didn't actually get to teach, I was useful behind the scenes. Thank you to whoever the person was who left me a gift.

And I'm sorry about the steel cable at the range... :uhoh:
I'll have to borrow my brother's trademark phrase: "it could have happened to anyone".

Or you could sleep soundly while the wife takes care of business. ;)

BTW jpm, next time you come to WI, you can take 151 and then not have to deal with IL and their tolls (which are going up again).

Thanks to YellowCat, MKE, Outdoorsman and all who helped out. It was a long day but well worth the time spent. Always good to hang out with all the usual suspects and meet some new folks. I managed to burn through 100 rounds of 45acp doing double taps with my Les Baer and Dan Wesson 1911's. HandyHamlet helped keep my Les Baer warm while I was running rounds through the Dan Wesson.

A badly needed correction

Thanks also to MKEGAL for helping me out. Can not wait to try again.
:D

MKEgal, you wrote that you did not feel that you did any actual instruction. Nonsense! You helped Paulswife by giving her confidence and ultimately, - - marksmanship. And even more significantly, a desire for Paul's wife to shoot again - sooner rather than later. That is +1000 for you.

You inspired a woman (paulswife) to embrace the shooting sports. That is why I pestered you into getting your NRA Certification. And, in case you did not notice, you instilled confidence into civilwarguy's lady as well. Both women naturally gravitated to you. I intimidated them both, but you were a "natural fit" as both a "professional instructor" and "one of the girls". (I love it when a plan comes together.)

Class - please correct MKEgal in her view that she did not actually provide any actual instruction!

I agree with Jpm and Think MKEGal was a great help to the class for Both genders. I also would like to thank the yellow cat with the M4 again cause although he didnt see it i was able to practice the Double Tap and got pretty good at it Just from seeing how he did it and being able to correct what i was doing wrong. I would go as far as saying the pair as instructors are some of the best i have ever seen or dealt with (and much nicer than the ones in the Marines)

MKEgal I totally agree with Paul's wife and jpm and thanks for your help today as well (AKA "civilwarguy's lady"). MKEgal I think you are a great
teacher.
All in all it was a great day with a ton of helpful and good information.

jpm, I will get to know the 1911 very well and keep practicing.

Does that mean your Model 1911 is pregnant? If the father is a Desert Eagle, then the baby may be a Springfield EMP Model 1911. YIPPEE for you.

Nope I think it was the Bersa and here i thought it was a female the whole time last time i let them share some alone time at night in the nightstand lol... and i will let you know what comes out it! If by some twist it comes out as a Hi-Point 1911 I will have to gift it to you so you can enjoy it LOL.
