So.... you coming into the discussion saying, in effect, that Walker made you lose your house and you can't eat is OK and we, trying to understand how he did it is a personal attack?

I am seriously interested in knowing what policy of Walker caused you to lose your house and stop eating?

I think the gentleman you quote is guilty of a little hyperbole and he's not too happy about having to defend it.

Look around the State at all the...

..."Addopt a Highway" projects being done by the public, hear any complaints from State, or city workers as they drive by and see the people doing their job?

Take people out of a State Prison, give them push mowers to cut the medium strips and now your eliminating riding mower jobs, maybe six truck driving positions, and the need for that many shovel leaning technicians. This deserves attention and must stop, can't you see we need these workers. What was Walker thinking???

Have you seen how many State, or City "workers" it takes to put up snow fence? These are truly skilled "workers", the likes of which would be totally unsustainable in the private sector. We must struggle past this so these positions can remain. boar out.

I've worked for the federal government, state government and in the private sector. There are plenty of "shovel leaners" in all three.

You got that right.

- Did anyone in Walker's cabinet take a pay cut, including Walker himself? How about Representatives and Senators? Why or why not?
- Is it true that police unions (maybe others?) were left alone? If so, why?

It may be contradictory to make arguments within the lines of the very system which is the problem. As stated above by Peacekeeper it doesn't matter if it's a union or private sector; they all have their corrupt.

Thanks Danger Close for the link. It doesn't even need discussion does it? Maybe Walker should take some words from Lee Iacocca and send it to the legislature. "Either lead, follow or get out of the way".

Have you never heard of the public library ...

Sure have bud, the point is if he's homeless and hungry they have no business griping about Walker on an Open Carry board - they should be out looking for work. Of course the poster in question isn't homeless nor hungry, and since they were called out on that they have proceeded to refuse further debate.

I can answer #2, Milwaukee PD has their own pension fund, so the state didn't want to interfere with that. I remember a few other police and fire departments that do it as well, but I do not recall which ones specifically.

Interesting. Has anyone heard anything about this in regards to the state patrol?

Every couple of weeks I receive an email from the desk of Gov. Walker. The email discusses things going on in state business. Each email Walker answers a question he has received from a citizen. Some of you may be interested in the question and answer that follows.

Just Ask the Governor: Part VII

Each e-update I will answer a question submitted by a recipient of the previous e-update or from someone who contacts my office directly.

Question: Some teachers in my building said that they heard you had plans to "steal" money already deposited in the teacher retirement system. They think that teachers could no longer count on these retirement funds already in their accounts to be available to them. Will teachers lose money already in their retirement accounts?

Answer: No. I will veto any proposal that attempts to reduce pension benefits already accrued by public employees, including teachers. In fact, modifying earned retirement benefits would likely be a violation of state law. Additionally, I am currently not planning to make any changes to the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). These rumors started because WEAC, AFSCME, and other public sector unions sent communications to their members indicating that I have plans to abolish or completely overhaul the WRS. These claims are 100% false. It’s unfortunate that the very unions who are supposed to be looking out for public employees are misleading their membership for the personal gain of a few union bosses. Ultimately the unions’ political tactic of spreading misinformation does a disservice to all public employees. I am hopeful that by spreading the truth we can avoid any unnecessary early retirements that could result from the dissemination of inaccurate information. The basis of the unions’ false claim lies in the fact that I originally brought up the idea of studying the WRS and comparing it to retirement systems in other states earlier last year. However, I did not include this proposal in my version of the biennial state budget. It became law after the Legislature inserted a provision into the budget that required the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) to study pension options. The goal of the study is to determine how the WRS can remain stable and avoid the massive shortfalls facing other states. ETF put out a detailed summary of the study, which can be accessed by clicking here. You can also read about the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s fact-check on this issue by clicking here.

The results of the ETF study will help us ensure that the WRS can continue to be one of the best publicly funded pension systems in the world.

Keep on fighting

this is excellent! lets keep on fighting amongst our peers and in the end we will be so distracted that we will not be able to see what the goal is....

Doyle sucked as a gov
Walker sucks as a gov
they all suck.

i finally went to the poll and voted ( not going to tell you how i voted) and the latest results are........................

Thank you for voting!
Strongly approve 64.08% (565,682 votes)
Approve 4.33% (38,213 votes)
Disapprove 1.55% (13,713 votes)
Strongly disapprove 30.04% (265,201 votes)
Total Votes: 882,809

so approve rate is 68.41 disapprove rate is 31.59 so if you extrapolate this to the recall then it sounds like if you want a different gov it should not happen. ( we as taxpayers just got screwed lol for a lot of money) so just keep on fighting and in the end they win not you and I. this is Polarization** at its finest...

defined: ** In politics, polarization (or polarisation) is the process by which the public opinion divides and goes to the extremes. It can also refer to when the extreme factions of a political party gain dominance in a party. In either case moderate voices often lose power and influence as a consequence. I guess I have lost as the infighting continues.. now back on track take this to the rant and rave section or the political one. remember they give a crap about the regular citizens.
