I still haven't encountered any OC'ers when I'm out and about. Kind of surprises me. Seems like there's a good number of us in SE WI.

It took me a long time before I encountered one outside of an event or planned meeting with another person or persons. Be patient, you will!

Well, how about you carry how you want to carry, and I'll carry how I want to carry, OK?

Point of clarification. No one challenged how you carry a sidearm. The point was that there is no such thing as "printing" in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin is an Open Carry state. This means you don't have to have permission to open carry. Which means it is not against the law to have an exposed sidearm in public. Hence no such thing as "printing".

I wasn't expecting a Constitutional debate about using the term. I merely used the word "printing" to define having the shape of my weapon being visible through my clothing. Sorry that I caused such a ruckus with the word. I'll pick another one next time.

You have to realize, that some people on this sight have sticks up there ass, which causes them to argue or try to make you feel small, and makes it difficult for them to get in their car and go get a slurpy...carry on......

I guess I could understand the want not to "print".
If you don't want anyone to know that you have a gun on, not printing would be your best bet.

That said, this is an "open carry" forum. A lot of us are way past the fear or even want, to think about printing. I am sure if you look around, you can find a concealed carry forum. Armed Badger is not a bad one...

I for one might try not to print if I go to a bar that I am not sure about. I have never been asked to leave, and I would like to keep it that way. As I end up the only sober one at the bar, I get to drive.
Same time as pointed out, I guess it does not matter at all. If I am ever ask to go, I will make sure to post about it, so you don't end up in the same position.
I still like to open carry due to the speed that I can get my gun in a ready position. A shirt over it slows me down, and I don't like it.

I don't think I have any sticks up my ass. I do have a boot for you if you keep it up... (That is a joke)
This is a gun forum, it helps a lot to grow thick skin.

I understand that this is an "open carry" forum. I also fully support the right of all Wisconsinites to carry firearms either openly or concealed, whichever they prefer. I've done both, and my personal preference is now concealed. My choice has nothing to do with fear of what other people may say or think. It is a tactical decision I have made. I don't have eyes in the back of my head, and I feel in certain situations having my weapon openly exposed will put a target on my back with bad guys who are about to do a dirty deed. If others want to carry openly, that's great. Tactically, I choose not to. To each their own.

The reason that I am here is because I am interested in gun related issues within Wisconsin in general, particularly in knowing which places prohibit both types of carry on their premises. Believe me, my skin is plenty thick (I've worked as a prison guard in maximum security and have had it dished out by the worst scum you can imagine). However, if being concealed carrier means I'm not really welcome on an "open carry" forum, and have to put up with debates and arguments about every post I make, no problem. I'll just move on.

In the words of Forrest Gump, "That's all I have to say about that." :)

I would have to say after the (short) time I have used this forum, that even if the main topic is "open carry", any posts with regard to firearms or rights or the like are welcome.
Fact is we need members. I feel this forum is a great place to keep up with the goings on (gun rights) in America.

The only problem I have is when that other guy (with his 20 posts), just jumps in and calls me and mine an ass. Not that it would be cool if he had 1000 posts...

Again, I fully understand wanting to do a good job of concealed carry. Nothing wrong with that. I support your choice 100%. I think it a safe bet most of the users would agree. I am just happy you carry.

After all, if everyone thought just like me, this forum would not be worth reading.

we need to put an end to the in fighting; it diminishes all of us, we are supposed to be the 'cut above' crowd here. we are running off new members, making regular members less likely to post or participate, and making us all look like fools to anyone who looks into this site. we are diverse individuals, with many points of view, experiences, and talents we should be sharing, instead of attacking each other. besides, there are more important issues to fight amongst ourselves over, like who is going to buy me some Cheeseburgers!
