OCed-ish (exposed IWB) through Best Buy for a few minutes to pick up an Xbox controller. Dunno if anyone noticed, but certainly no one seemed to care.

Got around a bit today and OC'd at:

In St. Charles...

Tony's for lunch..

Franks market to buy some stuff...

Secretary of State's office to renew license plates...

And then in Frankemuth..

Riverside place, a sorta mall with stuff for tourists...

Aside from having men my own age and older call me Sir.. as in "Excuse me Sir" when they walked in front of me... nothing of note occurred.

Methuselah was in Frankenmuth? :p

Hey, this guy is so wired on caffeine he moves faster than most 20yr. Olds! :p I know I can't keep up with him. Alas, though when I was a kid the happy meals had a choice flint axe or charred end wooden spears. :(

So moving faster than me is a pretty low bar.

On topic Doubled OC'd last night to fill up the wifes car that was on vapors! Clerk did a double take smiled and asked if I needed a bag for my bottles of SODA (no such thing as POP here???) & I said yes, as I never like to have both hands full. He said "I can see why" & chuckled. All good, no issues and the wannabe hip-hop rappers that were out front (all rich white kids of course) were no where to be found when I left??? :D

In my youth ... if we wanted a happy meal we had to go kill our own dinosaur. Oh wait.... I remember some kid that looked a lot like you that always wanted the drumstick.

No big deal.

I have, as usual, carried everywhere allowed by law since my last post: Target, JCPenny, Kroger, Cabelas and various fast food joints. No problems as always.

This next part is for those that are either "new" to OC or are considering OC. With all the media hysterics related to firearms you would think that the legal open carry of a firearm would cause running and screaming and riots in the streets, "cats living with dogs!" and all forms of fear and chaos. This however, is simply not true and I can attest to it with about 3 years of OCing. I shouldn't say I am surprised, maybe pleasantly surprised is a better term, when people see me OCing and don't care at all. Almost a year ago my family and I; wife, 7 children with #8 on the way, moved here to Dundee. We are in a neighborhood that is still under construction so the chance to meet all the neighbors is easy since there are not too many at this point. Without exception everyone we have met does not seem to be bothered in the least that I OC. If I have met 12 new people maybe 2 will ask about my firearm. I know they are not bothered because they send their children over to play with ours. People are more surprised by our large family than anything else I think! I said all that to say this: In general, people don't notice or don't care if you are OCing. Of course there are still problems here and there but, by and large, OC is being accepted.
I have to give a huge "THANK YOU!" to everyone before me who has fought for 2A rights in Michigan. Without the time and trouble that others have been through I would have never known about OC in Michigan. If you are new to OC or thinking about doing it; find someone in your area to encourage you/meet up or make it to an OC picnic/seminar in your area! Again, THANK YOU to the men and women who have paved the way for the rest of us! If I could I would be at every event that is OC related but, I'm pretty busy at home most days! ;)

Get out and OC, it's no big deal.
(of course you should read, read and re-read all the legal info you can to stay safe and out of trouble)

OCed today at Walmart, Home Depot, and Red Robin all in Dearborn. Most everyone around me acted as if it was the most normal thing in the world; our movement has come a long way gentleman. As I was walking into Walmart a middle aged black woman remarked "Wow they got you loaded down!? If one doesn't work the other one will huh" I said "Who is they? No ma'am, these are my personal weapons." Oh I didn't know. You're teaching me something." Then once inside another middle-aged black woman laughingly remarked "You got dem many weapons on you, I ain't mad at you?" I replied, "Ma'am You should watch the news more often and you'll see what I mean." She replied "I got da crime scene on speed dial on my phone and it's ridiculous" She then went on to complain about the number of shootings and break-ins on her block and suggested that what Detroit needed was occupation by the National Guard. I respectfully disagreed and we amicably went our separate ways but not before she quipped that she needed me to walk her to her vehicle so she wouldn't get robbed.

I didn't bother trying to educate her on open carry or even suggest getting a CPL. It became clear to me she had no interest in firearms or self-defense, what she really wanted was for someone else to do the heavy lifting for her.

I won't be carrying in any manner, OC or CC, for the next few days. I won't even be driving anywhere.... I caught a whopper of a cold and the Doc gave me some very strong meds... but it really doesn't matter much since I feel like 2 pounds of crap stuffed into a 1 pound bag and am not planning on going anywhere anyway.

But I'm not worried... Yooperlady will be carrying and I am confident she can protect both of our butts if needed.

Not to be a jerk or anything, but this thread is in the MI sub-forum. Most posts are expected to be related to OC in MI. Maybe you could post about your experiences in your state sub-forum? This avoids confusion with regards to legality of carry in the many different (from state to state) gun/pistol free zones.

We have people from other states post on here from time to time. I see no issue with it. It is nice if they post what state they're in though because I had an experience where I thought someone might have been in violation of 750.234d, but when I found out what state they were in it was not an issue.
