I was riding the motorcycle on 64 west to a friends house in Suffolk yesterday, open carrying a taurus 92 when I got passed by a guy on a sport bike (think it was an r6) carrying a glock. Kind of interesting the number of open carriers I see on motorcycles these days.

Among many other places, I was at Value City off Jefferson today. Found this on the back door. I can't seem to figure out how the first sentence is related to the second.
If anybody is in the market for furniture, a trip to Value City while OCing and expecting to get kicked out is in order.

While at the comic shop playing a game with my friends, some random guy approaches:

"Is that a prop?"
I hope not! If it is, then I got ripped off.
"Is it loaded?"
Last time I checked it was, (one of my friends told the guy it wouldn't do any good if it wasn't loaded)
"Well the hammer is back on it."
You're right. With the hammer back I can have both of the safeties on at the same time. It's the safest way to carry it. (Friend chimes in about trigger finger being another safety, to which I agree)

I now have a recording device.

My wife and I went to Lowe's earlier this evening to get some garden things and as I was loading bags of gravel into the back of my wife's SUV, one of the store associates came up and started helping us load all our stuff. When that was done, he struck up a conversation about my open carried Walther PPS. He had just purchased an S&W .40 of some type and was practicing regularly at the Marksman. He was a really nice fellow, and my wife and I chatted with him about guns and other stuff for about 20 minutes. He was well aware of the legality of OC, but preferred CC most of the time. I gave him one of my OCDO cards before leaving. I have never had as much as a bad look from anyone at Lowe's over the years, and once spotted a unicorn there. They clearly are pro OC and make no issue of it at all. The way it should be! I encourage all you other DIY people to go to Lowes and tell 'em Dutch Uncle sent ya!

OC-ed a bit over the last few days. Olive Garden no issues and ACT for my daughters tumbling class.

I have been having to make 10+ trips a week to the school though for practices which force me into CC mode. :-( When are we going to get the GFSZ overturned?

Lots of places, lost track how many times I went out.. Walmart a lady came up to me and said could you tell my son that carrying a gun is legal in VA. I told him yes it is. I asked do you have CHP, she said getting it soon.:)

Mexican restaurant with good friend.

Vet, had some shaddy guys looking at me, 3 of them camping on the corner watching me go back to the car.

My wife and I went back to Lowe's agin today, and just like yesterday one of the employees came up to me as all the stuff was loaded and asked my about my OC'd pistol. He was shocked that OC required no permit and that it was perfectly legal as long as the gun owner is not legally barred from ownership, ie. a felony conviction. He said he was thinking of getting a cc permit, so I told him what it generally required. He assumed any pistol he might use had to be registered. He was again shocked when I told him that VA has no gun registration of any type. I gave him an OC card and mentioned OCDO. Lets hope we get another new member!

One person at a time expands and grows geometrically/expodentially - great job as always. :)

Saw a guy with a big orange Gun Save Lives sticker on the back of a truck last night in Newport News. I didn't see that he was OCing one though.

my recent non adventures

recently I have carried without incident in at least the following locations: Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Starbucks, Exxon, SunTrust, Foodlion, Panera Bread, Farm Fresh, Home Depot, Best Buy, H.H.Gregg, Office Depot, Chic-Fil-A, all around and in the house, and in the Newport News Riverview Park where the VCDL picnic will be. Can't think of anywhere else at the moment.
