Good Info
I am currently 20 and on my second handgun. When I transport my handgun, it is in the glovebox. Which is locked. And I keep my mag(s) in a different compartment or in the inaccessible(from inside the car) trunk area. I do not open carry unloaded because I feel there is no need to push the limits, especially with Seattle Police. We all know how far they take the smallest things. My question is; COULD I open carry unloaded with say a mag in the "mag holster" near the gun and be legitimate with doing so? Say walking to/from home/work. I haven't read anything about an 18-20 carrying OPEN&Unloaded being illegal.
By the way I have many state produced papers on the subject of 18-20 with me in my car at all times when I transport any handguns to be more legitimate. If the glovebox doesn't count as a "locked box or opaque case" then I will carry it in the box it came with. I've heard of people getting in trouble for the glovebox because it's not a "box" or "case" it's a compartment. But it says "gloveBOX"
I'm semi-new to the whole carrying gig but I know knowledge is power. Whether it's to protect myself or keep myself from sitting in a jail cell.
Thanks,
