Here is what I got back

Hello Jeff,

Fuddruckers decision not to allow guns in the restaurants is not a statement about gun rights or laws. It is however, a statement about the primary importance of creating and maintaining a comfortable environment for all of Fuddruckers guests.

Open carry laws are changing in various states. Therefore, restaurants are more clearly communicating their policies to guests. Fuddruckers has had a no weapons policy for several years but it wasn't being enforced in all locations. By enforcing its no-weapons policy, Fuddruckers is enforcing its rights as a private business to create the sort of dining environment we believe best suits and appeals to all or the majority of our guests.

On behalf of Fuddruckers, Inc., we sincerely appreciate your patronage.

I got the same response to which I replied:

Hi Adriana -

Thanks for the response. Of COURSE Fuddruckers is making a statement about gun rights by banning gun owners. Fuddruckers is SCREAMING "We don't want legal gun owners in our stores!.. only criminals that don't follow the law are welcome". I have also heard from THREE local Fuddruckuckers stores that a FURIOUS with the HQ decision. One even said I am a franchise owner and can do what I want and you guys are still welcome here as I control my bottom line, not HQ!! I told him, I am sorry but no.

Fuddruckers should get out of the gun debate all together. Just make Burgers. Let each state worry about what the laws are for that state. Follow the footsteps of Walmart, best Buy , Sams Club, Borders, Home Depot and hundreds of others.. Most recently Starbucks..(http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/03/04/eveningnews/main6267697.shtml)

In these economic times, you guys could fix this really quick and change your mind.. You are traveling down a slippery slope. ONE IN THREE American's is a gun owner. Your decision to ben us could be the beginning of the end.

I hope you guys reconsider before it's too late. Good Luck.

This kind of cracks me up. This place is helping (or trying) to take your rights away (mine too). And when we collectively write someone and post their response, you want to protect THIER PRIVACY? Why? So someone else doesn't write the same person and say "I saw what YOU said to ED in an e-mail and I too am no longer going to go to Fuddrucker's anymore, etc.) I just don't get it I guess.:banghead:

They sure are saying something. It's no longer a comfortable environment for me and mine... I guess they're saying they don't want me as their guest.

I can oblige.

I got the same canned reply. F*** Fuddruckers. They say it's "not about gun rights".

Bull****. They could've let well enough alone, but they chose to pick a side, so to hell with them.

They were doing fine with us. Then all of a sudden, one woman complains and this all starts to happen? Is that crazy or what?

Appealing to the lowest common denominator is not the best move but it happens all the time, in business, government, and via laws and regulations.

Nuts. Just nuts.

Hmm -- mine had a little extra blurb on the end:

"On behalf of Fuddruckers, Inc., we sincerely appreciate your time and
patronage and we are sorry to hear that you will no longer be visiting
Fuddruckers.
"

Anyone else get that?

Mine was completely different. Maybe the franchises are different than corporate locations???

[font="'PrimaSans BT,Verdana,sans-serif'"]Hello Kevin,

Your comments were sent to the franchise owner over this Fuddruckers location as they are set their own gun policy.

Adriana,

This message was not intended for the management team at the restaurant we dined in.

This message was meant for those who make decisions regarding corporate policies.

Please ensure that this message reaches the proper individuals.

Thank you.

I have yet to receive a response to my complaint.

I believe someone posted earlier in this thread that VCDL was alreadyinvolved in this situation. Does that refer to VCDL Leadership or to the many individual VCDL memberswho areon this forum and already taking action on their own? I believe there should be amonthly VCDL meeting in about a week or two, and I have yet to see any updates that mention the problem with Fudds.

I agree. I had recently resumed eating at Fuddruckers solely on the grounds that it seemed the VCDL routinely patronized them to positive effect.

Now this. **** 'em.

Got another response...

Kevin,

This is a 'corporate restaurant' policy. We do not speak for our franchise locations.

Adriana,

It sounds like you are saying to me that individual locations may set their own policy regarding firearms.

However, In emailsto others, it sounds like you are saying that it is a company wide corporate policy.

http://opencarry.mywowbb.com/forum54/41708.html Which is it?

Thanks!
