Big Dogs restaurant is an anti-firearm establishment

They most definitely are anti Open Carry. It is their official policy (thought I posted a copy of the letter from corporate) to not allow open carry. They do maintain that they are pro 2A with most of the upper managers being gun owners themselves, but publicly believe that open carry invites problems in a bar.

I am not necessarily siding with that opinion. Just repeating what it is. I am a regular at Big Dogs Drafthouse on N. Rancho because I am addicted to the brewmasters IPA creations. I go there about 4 days a week on average for the past 10 years and know the owner(s) & staff quite well. It is "our place".

I too have oc'd here with no one noticing or saying anything. But because I do respect their property owner rights and know that it is my choice to continue to go there even though they are anti oc, I politely cc.

The wife and I talked long and hard about our decision to keep going there. It was decided that this is the place we get more enjoyment from than any other and we go all the time. Please don't start in on me about it. It's a personal decision and I WILL NOT entertain anyone's unsolicited opinion on my personal choice.

I do have some concerns over them staying afloat, however. They have shut down all other locations and are now considering opening up smaller beer-only, non-gaming establishments modeled after ones you may see in San Diego. I don't think that will work in Vegas. Some of their brews are now available in limited supply in bottles in stores and other bars.

I know that correlation doesn't exactly mean causation....But I would really like to think in this case Big Dog's buisness is hurting because of their anti 2A/OC stance. Lord knows that I alone have spent more than a few thousand at PT's since I stopped frequenting Big Dogs. I was also a regular there, visiting sometimes as many as 5 times a week. I fell in love with their tail wagger wheat and it was a hard beer to let go.

It would be nice to think that was the reason, but from what I see.... It is simply too many high paid chiefs poorly running the many Indians. They suffer from what many companies do - the highest upper echelon taking care of one's self. As a former executive myself I used to tell my boss (owner) that if we execs took a few less expensive "martini lunches" (i.e., 1st class flights, bonuses, etc) then the company could afford to keep some of the few we were laying off. Needless to say, that didn't go over well. None of the other execs supported me on that. People are in it for themselves. Btw, that company did not survive the crash of '08. If Big Dogs doesn't start making those high paid execs perform & get results, I expect the same demise. Did we learn nothing from GM?
