<snip> ... i'm trying to get them to let me spend money in their store.
it should be the other way around.

Unfortunately, OCers are collectively such a small group, what we do or don't spend in a particular store isn't even a blip on the accountant's radar screen. Consequently, our attempts at persuading recalcitrant store managers (or employees) to consider our point-of-view has to be based on more than just threats of shopping elsewhere to be credible and effective.

Ah, but Mr Felix, one voice may not be heard, but a few singing in Harmony may be music to their ears...One who tells two, that each tell two, does begin to add up.
Wonder how people would feel if we stood outside in the public and handed out Second amendment candy bars. A piece of paper attched to a mini candy bar with the 2a/VA law on one side, and that a certain business that doesn't support the right to protection on the other. For 20 bucks, you could hand out hundreds of candy bars with the message in about an hour.

Hey, I won't stick around and spend my hard-earned money in an establishment that doesn't want my business.

I do agree with the concept, but what frustrates me is that it seems that at least sometimes I/we get put into positions where we have to make a choice between one "evil" and the other. Like with banks -- do you bank with a bank who doesn't trample on your 2A rights, even though the way that they conduct business (excessive fees, etc.) is reprehensible? Or do you bank with a bank that does business fairly, even though they have taken a stance against guns? In my own case -- regarding banks -- I've made the decision to go with a bank who does conduct business fairly rather than with one who wants to gouge me but will let me OC while they do so. In the end the way that I look at it is that their 2A stance can possibly be changed, while the way that they conduct business speaks to their lack of ethics and that's a lot harder to change. In the end, what I hope is that because I happen to have five business accounts with the bank that I perhaps one day can get them to rethink the 2A position.

How about a bank that does business fairly and doesn't infringe upon rights?

My fantasy bank exactly. And FWIW, I'm actively pinging on my bank about the not infringing upon rights. I've spoken with branch managers who don't necessarily agree with bank policy, to help them understand the issues better. I suspect that one of them would probably "look the other way" if I came inside OC'ing and they know that I am when I'm in the drive-through (and the manager's "understanding" of the bank policy is that the drive-through is not "inside" the bank anyway). Small steps I think. But yes, that's certainly what I would much rather have, and to not have to weigh ethics/fair vs. infringing upon rights.

Wells Fargo is a pretty good bank and I OC at the Branches in Fairfax all the time and have never had an issue.
