No Change For Me

No changes for me. I alternate between my XD-45 and XD-9 (4 inch, both of them) in an outside the belt holster with a Kel Tec P-32 in pocket holster as back up.

Have you looked at the Taurus 740 Slim? It's on my short list...

Also a HK P2000SK would fit the bill, but more $$$.

For now I will probably just carry the Kimber Tactical Ultra, but I need a better holster. My wife's Taurus PT138 is smaller and she probably won't carry it so there's another option for me; and it's PINK!

Hehe, I tried to get my wife to buy the pink model and she looked at me as if I was crazy and refused. Said the only "girl" color she would get it in was purple and had to have rinestone flower stickers on it (which is a reference to this horrible rifle we saw at a gun sale while in Japan that actually was purple with rinestone flowers on it. And they were the fake jewelery sticker type rinestone).

I hadn't looked at the slim before, I just knew of the Millenium series because I held several at a recent gun show and I liked how they felt (was looking for one in .45 but after thinking about it I kinda want my carry guns to have same ammo if possible). I'll be sure to try out a slim if I see one, though after looking at the specs online it has fewer rounds, is longer, heavier, and has a shorter barrel than the 140. So I'd need to see it right next to the 140 to be able to make a decision.

after carrying my glock 19 concealed and openly i can see why some people need to carry a smaller gun day to day- it can be pretty bulky, especially getting in and out of the car etc... Had to get into a little barbers chair the other day, that was fun with the glock 19 in a serpa holster on my hip.

when i took my CC course my instructor had a compact kimber 1911 that had a great feel and seemed a great deal slimmer than my g19, i think ill save a bit of money and go for one of those for my next pistol

fashion sense always dictates; pick a gun that matches your shoes.

But your shoes and belt need to match, so you will also need a holster that matches your belt and shoes, three holsters for each gun should be sufficient, brown, black, and cordovan should do nicely.

You will however need a watch to match your gun, stainless watch and band for the basic stainless pistol, a nice divers style watch with a black rubber band to match your glocks (and other assorted tupperware guns), a gold watch in case you have enough money for a gold plated gun (I haven't made it there yet, but if the clerk ever sells me a non defective lottery ticket).

Or in case you are carrying it concealed and no one sees it who really cares ig anything matches. I personally carry either a glock 36 or a taurus 85 when concealing. I occasionally carry the taurus along with whatever I am openly carrying.

I haven't seen the 740 but I bought my wife the 709 slim about a year and a half ago. Surprisingly accurate little thing, but the recoil on it feels worse than my glock 36 due to the size and weight of the thing.

Carried daily since I got it, G26... rides in the cargo pocket of my pants, sometimes carry a Walther P22 around the farm in a Fobus paddle holster on the hip. Actully use the P22, critters and such I come across, but for CC I like the Glock in my pocket... hope I never really need it.

Sig Sauer P220 Compact SAS Gen2. It comes with night sights, short reset trigger and has a melt treatment. My only complaint is it would be nice if the hammer was flat since I use it for pocket carry.

Occassionally a Kahr MK40 rides along. I used to use a Taurus PT145 millenium pro until I had some feed issues and went with Sig. The karh p/pm45 looks enticing too.:dude:

I believe I have a chubby. :uhoh:

I was a little hesitant when I ordered this gun since I knew it would be heavy and larger than a Kahr P/PM45 (and slightly more expensive $200). I decided to go with Sig over Kahr because I already had other Sig P220's and love them. The night sights and Short Reset Trigger are great. The melt treatment was cool also.

Once I got it I shot it and it shot just like any other P220 and can take the larger 8 round or 10 round magazines that fit the normal sized P220's. It also fits in any P220 holster so I get to reuse all my gear. The top slide is mostly identical with the Carry version which has a 3.9 inch barrel. The only real difference is the shortened grip which holds 6+1 rounds. Since it can take the regular 8 round mags I carry the 8 rounder as my spare.

ETA: This gun is great to shoot and can be shot all day with no issues. Accuracy is also great out of the box just like any other P220. Sig's in general are easy to conceal with a coat or shirt. Here is a pic of the full size stainless that rides in my SERPA holster:

So on many days I have a stainless P220 on my hip and the Compact P220 in my front pocket with a spare mag or two in my cargo pocket/phone pocket depending on which shorts/pants I am wearing. I am really happy with this gun and put off my purchase of the kahr P/PM45 indefinitely. Yes there may be days where the Kahr is preferred but for now my Sigs rule the day!

I'll still carry my 5" 1911 Colt or 4" 1911 Wilson. The Colt has served me for 25 years, the Wilson for 10. There is nothing on the market that has improved upon the 1911 so why change.
