Visiting AZ

Hi all. I'll be down in AZ visiting in a few weeks, so I wanted to brush up on the local laws. I actually grew up in the east valley but I was never a "gun person" till I moved up here.

Anyways, as I understand it, "almost" constitutional carry, oc/cc generally not restricted, respect private property, "no guns" signs have no force of law, EXCEPT...

One must have a cpl to carry in a restraint that serves booze, and one MUST conceal there, and signs have force of law. Have I got that right??

You did a good job of research, so there is little to add. The only thing I would say is that "NO GUNS" signs act much like no tresspass signs, and can be enforced as tresspass. You would have to be notified, so you would be asked to leave. If you did not leave, then you could be arrested for tresspassing. Arizona takes tresspassing seriously.

I think you meant that if you go into a place with a no guns sign openly carrying they will ask you to leave and if you don't AFTER you've been asked you can be prosecuted for trespassing but the law really has nothing to do with the sign (I'm not talking about title 4 signs, just a generic no guns sign).

Indian Reservations have their own set of laws so either learn what they are or stay off the Res. with your gun. Of course all the Casino's are on Res. land.

Thanks guys. Been having a good trip with no issues so far. I honestly think the shoot-me-first vest I wear into restaurants gets more dirty looks than the Sidearm, but of course the ONE place I REALLY wanted to go to down here has the gun busters sign up. :banghead: :cuss:

Shoot me first vests are much to warm for use in Arizona. Just pull your T shirt out and let it cover if you have to conceal.

Barro's Pizza in Mesa. Missed that place, it's bloody IMPOSSIBLE to find a great big bucket of buffalo wings up here. Heh, in my case just pulling my shirt over my sidearm screams GUN even more than a vest. That's why I started OCing in the first place.

But other than the nightly inconvenience for dinner I OC'd pretty much everywhere except AZ Mills & no one so much as batted an eye.
