I will just add this little bit; excerpts from letters received from the Senators representing the Great State of Alabama:

Sen. Sessions:

"The UN has previously encouraged the "highest possible standards" on private firearm ownership, which could lead to a requirement for universal firearms registration and increased restrictions...... UN member nations have argued in the past that each individual nation must impose stringent controls to ensure that international controls on arms trades are effective. I believe that this is an effort to pressure countries to adopt more stringent gun control laws, which would infringe on our Second Amendment Rights.

As your United States Senator, I will continue to defend our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.:

Sen. Shelby:

"Although I appreciate many of the efforts that the UN has made to coordinate international humanitarian relief efforts, I have grave doubts about this institution as a whole. The organization's history is wrought with failures in leadership and fiscal irresponsibility. Further, I do not believe that compromising the integrity of the United States Constitution or threatening our sovereignty will help promote international cooperation. Please be assured that I will keep your thoughts in mind should any United Nations treaties regarding small arms come before the full Senate."

Added: It has been my personal opinion for some years now that it is past time for the U.N. to be removed from United States' soil and for the United States to resign from this corrupt organization. Please note Senator Shelby's comments regarding the history of the U.N.
