You put yourself "out there" in the public eye. You now have to deal with your supporters as well as detractors.
BS is just like most other forums. There are a wide range of personalities from nice, intelligent guys to jackasses to wacky women. If you go there looking for jackasses you will find them aplenty. The same can be said for most all forums, this one included. I go to BS for the classifieds, which are pretty good.
I've met some really good guys who I now call friends at BS. Some guys had a falling out with the ownership at BS and started our their own forum,
www.bugoutwhale.com . Unlike other boards that are extremely cliquish and biased at the BOW everyone gets a clean slate and a chance to build their reputation from the ground up. There are some jackasses on the BOW, too, but the admin and mods do not protect the jackasses.
An small open carry sub-forum section would be welcome at the BOW if someone would be so inclined to provide factual information and helpful links without representing opinion as fact or being hostile. Even the great MEM would be welcome to try although I don't think you can turn down your personality enough to not be polarizing. Even though I agree with some of the things you say and do you make it hard to not dislike you because of the way you carry yourself and represent your opinions. Sorry, but if you were truly righteous you would be able to defend your positions more with facts and do less running and hiding, IMHO.
For examples:
I heartily appreciate the effort you put into getting them to not put SS#s on DLs.
I do not like the way you flaunt your "Freedom Bike". If you were treated unfairly by LEOs it doesn't mean you get a check for it. That sense of entitlement has nothing to do with Justice, IMHO. The taxpayers shouldn't buy you a toy because some guy who is trying to do his job made a mistake. I realize you hate LEOs but I see them as necessary in our society and therefor I support them, in general. Maybe in your perfect world there are no LEOs and everyone carries. Maybe you were born a few hundred years too late.
