I was wondering if anyone might know whether or not you can carry on the grounds around the State Capitol. I'm sure they prohibit firearms in the building but there is a park area in front of it and around all sides of it. I'm pretty sure that if they treat the lawn area as a park that I would be fine as I have a CCW permit that overrides signage for parks. The question is if they would consider that part of the state property and require that you check it in. Anybody know? Thanks in advance.

Ok so nobody replied. I did contact the Capitol Police and they said firearms are permitted on the grounds but not inside the building.
