+1 Thanks for pointing that clause out. I hadn't bothered to look it up yet, that's a strong point against their entire argument.

They do not have an argument, at least not a legal argument and they are in fact in violation of state law, their gun rules are preempted and repealed by RCW 9.41.290 so there literally are no rules no matter what the Sheriff says. Why is it we can not seem to get the people that we hire to enforce the law to obey the law. That would be a question I would ask the Sheriff if I was dealing with him.

I'm on board with you 100% Jeff. I made a small step getting them to remove CPL requirements from using the lock box. But as stated before in my belief it will take legal action to get them to remove the ID requirement. We have one case already (SpokaneOC) of an individual being refused the legal right to access the lock box to secure his pistol due to not having ID on his person at the time of entry. (AGAIN my point is that ID is NOT REQUIRED to carry, so how can it be REQUIRED to used a lock box that is MANDATED by state law to be accessible by citizens..............) But I fear that that is not enough. Hopefully SpokaneOC can explain this to the commissioners that wouldn't speak to me and it will be resolved without legal action.

P.S. SpokaneOC, if you get a meeting with Commissioner Meilke (he is also the commissioner of my "area") PM me and let me know. I can try to make arrangements to join you if needed/wanted....

Has there been any follow up with this situation? I know in the Annex they are still requiring both CPL and ID to allow you the use of the lock box.

I am also curious to see if "SpokaneOC" has gotten anywhere with this as he was actually denied entry. He has a pretty solid case if he can find a lawyer willing to help.

Bob, as to the "Annex", are they requiring CPL even if you go in Open Carrying? The procedure that I got from Steve Bartell and that was posted earlier in this thread states that no CPL is required for OC....
