And so it begins....flappin their gums about mandatory training and LEO access to permit records. More and more restrictions, where we're allowed to carry, carrying "Under the influence" would be a felony on the second offense. Erpenbach can KMA

Training mandates give false comfort. With a mandate people train to meet the mandate and that is it. When you leave it to the individual the will train to there level of need, which is proven to be mare than any false mandate.

948.605(2)
(2) Possession of firearm in school zone.

(specifically reads firearms)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
948.605(2)(b)2.
2. If the individual possessing the firearm is licensed to do so by a political subdivision of the state or bureau of alcohol, tobacco and firearms in which political subdivision the school zone is located, and the law of the political subdivision requires that, before an individual may obtain such a license, the law enforcement authorities of the political subdivision must verify that the individual is qualified under law to receive the license;

(could be a valid hunting license after completion of hunter's safety training certificate issued)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

948.605(2)(b)7.
7. That is unloaded and is possessed by an individual while traversing school grounds for the purpose of gaining access to public or private lands open to hunting, if the entry on school grounds is authorized by school authorities.

948.605(2)(b)8.
8. By a person who is legally hunting in a school forest if the school board has decided that hunting may be allowed in the school forest under s. 120.13 (38).

(Sort of a muddy distinction between "school grounds" and "school property". A school forest is likely school property but is it considered "school grounds" under the reach of this statute? Or is it neither?)

Get 'im Galloway! The D's are coming out saying we have to have training for reciprocity. My PA LTCF didn't require training and I can carry in something like 13 states with it.

What a douche. (D) Erpenbach

"We don't want to force business owners to make a decision and choose a side." (talking about business owners posting versus the state prohibiting)

So instead he wants to FORCE them to choose a side with out leaving it up to the business owner.

The last few floor speakers I have been listening to are pushing for a training requirement. They so far have been Firearms training instructors. I wonder why they want mandated training?. (sarcasm)

Did you really expect anything different from them? They did the same damn thing with the smoking ban. Rather than leaving it up to the individual who owns/operates/lives off the proceeds of their business they took all choice away.

Okay wasn't sure. It seemed almost like they just threw their hands up and said get rid of everything except this one point. Thought that was an odd concession...

LoL glad I wasn't the only one who got lost in that one. My headphone volume sucks so I wasn't sure I heard it right.

N/M, I think they killed the amendment anyways.

Now they didn't accept the amendment TO the amendment.... so they're back to the original amendment with all the prohibited places.

....that is..... if I'm following it correctly....
