I like Deeds

Well, I like Creigh Deeds. He has always to me seemed to be of good character.

I do not like Dick Saslaw. Or Janet Howell. Why? Because they seemed to be of BAD character.

Look, it's simple: character matters.

Sorry to disappoint, but I was thinking about "Sic Semper Tyrannis".
I was surprised to find you cannot CC or OC at Monticello or Jefferson's retreat at Poplar Forest. That must have to do with liberals now in charge of these sights and they don't want to 'offend' or 'alarm' anyone from liberal areas or foreign visitors and/or future amnestied US voters.

It is worth putting up a mental note to see if any of the recent events change Deeds' position - on mental care, as well as 2A, knives with blades over 0.5", hammers, pruning shears, paper scissors, ballpoint pens, box cutters, power tools with blades or moving parts, steel plate thinner than 1", tree limbs thicker than 2", rocks heavier than 1# or larger than 8", gas ovens, gasoline in quantities over 0.4 fluid ounces, propane bottles with out RFID sensors to alert NSA and green police if they are issuing gas at a rate greater than a bunsen burner, gas grills that don't have a continuous pilot light, sandbags that could hold more than 15#, bags of dirt/soil over 8#, saran wrap wider than a child's mouth, and anything else produced in the United States that could be used to harm anyone or scare them.

Well-addressed....

Let me redact these previous statements, as they were written in haste and over-emotion and are not the Christian viewpoint:

"Either pray for your enemies or give it up altogether. " and "... why pray at all if you don't do it with the heart of him you pray to?"

The reality is we can't pray with the heart of him we pray to, no matter how much we would like to, because we are sinful. But, the above scriptures give insight into the way we should pray, which I would like to gently bring to the attention of those who'd rather disregard the mandate.

My mamma told me that guns were enemies ; Jesus said to love my enemies.

So I love guns.

Its a win win situation then.

You know, McBeth, generally I dislike your humor and posts. But every once in a while you heave in a gem that knocks me out of my chair.

LOL!!

This is a message for those who claim Christianity:

Either pray for your enemies or give it up altogether.
"I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Luke 5:32
"But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" Matthew 5:44

As I said, the most I can do is pray that they see the Light and the Truth; their health I will not pray for (I outlined the reasons in my previous post) or against (which is sin).

We would all do well keep into focus a central truth: "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:12

The underlying war of this nation is a fight between worldviews: One that identifies man as problem, and God as solution and one that identifies God as problem and man as solution.

So this entire argument really begs the question, why pray at all if you don't do it with the heart of him you pray to? Instead curse your enemies as your enemies curse you. And go do it somewhere else than here.

I'm familiar with the passage, however, these enemies of Freedom sure make it hard to separate their bodies from their actions when they use so much press time to promote the oppression and disarming of the innocent and the vulnerable. So while I may "curse" them, I will not pray for their demise (which could be used to strengthen their assault on Freedom, as I point out in my previous post).
As it is, I am not in the best place when it comes to Faith; I know He is there, I know he has been merciful with me, I know He has blessed me, but there are just some things I find it hard to believe He would let happen to the Innocent.

Mental healthcare - guess Obamacare left it out - so blame the Tea Party

I was thinking back on What happened to....Creigh Deeds & his family.

I don't like to give any traffic or credence to Huffpo, but here's a link with a little bit of an update.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/04/creigh-deegs-federal-mental-health-reform_n_5768386.html

Looks like Deeds is using his circumstances to push forward lies about his Republican opponents and blame it on the Tea Party:

"I count myself unfortunately in that group of Americans that just feel like Congress is not capable at this point of solving these basic problems. Democrats and Republicans don't talk to one another. It's very frustrating to me," Deeds told host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani. "The Tea Party ... takeover of government these days, particularly the Republican party, just scares the heck out of me. It means that government doesn't function at the federal level."

So not having adequate mental health care is not part of Obamacare? Only Democrats saw the bill before it they alone pushed the Monstrosity through Nancy Pelosi's Congress - 'you have to pass the bill to find out what is in it'. Republicans caused this problem? Deeds thinks the lack of adequate mental health care in VA should be paid by taxpayers in the other 49 states? Actually I think Obamacare has significantly expanded the mental health benefits - leading to a very increased cost of health insurance premiums.

I don't know Deeds financial situation, but you'd think he be willing to spend some of his money to make sure his son got the mental care he needed. If there were Laws in place that prevented the State from involuntarily putting his adult son under psych supervision against his will, 1) why did these powers of the state get pruned back (see liberals in the 1960s), and 2) who would be in a better position to 'do something about it' than a very powerful VA politician?

The Tea Party is a easy target because there is no "Tea Party" in the same vein as the R or D party. Deeds can dump on the "tea Party" cuz it does not have a face, only followers. Ya'd think Deeds would know that a great many folks identify with the tea party in one form or another and by dumping on "it" also means he is dumping on them.

Get well Deeds.
