So it looks like we're having fewer than 10 people.
Anyone bringing a frisbee or jarts? (Are those still available?)
And do we have written permission from the Chief to use the bathrooms,
or will we have to go in pairs & hold each other's ... you know?
(Or leave it on our chair )

I will probably be out on the water SUN morning, unsure of how late I'll be getting away, but I've already made the salad. (Forgot the feta; have to get that tomorrow.)

ETA: Just looked on google maps. Looks like we exit 43 at 50 / Geneva, like going to SBX, go west instead about 2 miles, turn north on 2nd St., then the park will be less than a mile up on the left.

I'll Be There Around 12

I'm bringing my small, cast iron grill for those that need a grill to cook on. I'll have a bag of "Matchless" briquettes for use as well as whatever cooking utensils I can scrounge from the house. Looking forward to a picnic of sorts!

Just started boiling the brats in beer.

Bringing 20 brats, buns, ketchup (for those so inclined), mustard, sauerkraut (hmmm), baked beans in a crock pot. We have SOME paper plates but if you need utensils, you might want to bring your own. In addition, 24 half liter bottles of water and a cooler full of ice.

The sky just went dark here but it looks like it will roll through quickly.

Nancy i splanning on grilling the brats at home on our grill and bringing them over ready to serve an pipping hot (we live 10 minutes from the park).

ETA: I find it highly annoying & belittling that we had to ask permission from the Chief of Police in order to be allowed to use the restrooms in a public park.

+1

I wonder if we don't even ask, if we would even get arrested. I have been to several OC picnic and never saw an LEO to observe anyone going in.

Seriously, I know the LEO have different attitudes in different areas of the state. The picnic I hosted in Eau Claire, the sheriff would only give permission to use the bathrooms in the town hall. The other bathrooms by the ball parks, he did not consider them public buildings for the purpose of 941.237, just the town hall.

As it turned out, it wouldn't have been a problem even w/o permission.
They were only porta-johns, so a) not a building, and b) not regularly inhabited by gov't employees while working.

Nice park, pretty area. We should meet there again.
