I actually put my SSN in the space. I am not familiar with why I should or should not put my SSN in the box. When I was filling it out,I believed that if I didn't put it in, the possibility of me getting denied would be great (so, I put it in). I just didn't know any better. I hope I don't have any problems being approved (will I?)

I won a civil rights lawsuit this year against the PA State Police to stop this illegal SSN collection (Stollenwerk v. Miller).

0600 for the ride downtown.

Sir docwatson,

Is it all right for me to meet with the group in D.C.? I have to take my daughter to daycare and they do not open until 0630. I can be at the metro at 0700 (barring traffic) and be in D.C. however long it takes the train to get me there (even though I will need directions since I have not been on the metro in about 12 years). I want to make it clear........I definitely will go!! Please let me know.

Thanks for the info, Mike!

I had put my Personnel Security hat on when I filled out the application. When you fill out paperwork for a security clearance there is a statement that says something to the effect of "You don't have to provide your SSN, but, if you don't, it will impact you being granted a security clearance." Of course, that statement is near the validation page where you acknowledge that the information you provided is true to the best of your knowledge (essentially, if you don't provide your SSN, your information will be incomplete, and, your security clearance processing will stop, which will impact you being granted a security clearance). That was my thinking when I filled out this application.

I visited both yours and ProguniTN's suggested websites (which I have in my favorites). I will refer tothem for guidance before I fill out any application that ask for my SSN.

No problem here. The address information is on the DC page.

That will work. I will bring cash, credit cards, anda check book (not sure what is accepted). Sir docwatson, I applaud your efforts with this and look forward to meeting you (if you are still around when I arrive). Stay the course!!

Wow!! I receivedmy PA Handgun Permit in five working days. It is valid without a photo, but, it too big to put in a standard wallet. I laminated it and folded it in three parts (now it fits). Now I can visit Georgia and be legal when I carry (I will call the State Police before I go). Just wanted to let everyone know.

Did you get the permit without the Socialist in-Security Number?

Not sure the State Police are the best ones to ask - LE agencies seldom are.

See http://www.ganet.org/ago/press/press.cgi?prfile=PR.20050915.01 for latest official information I can find - PA is on the list.
