As I strolled into the Piggly Wiggly on Greenwell Springs Road, the usual armed male security guard had been replaced by an armed female security guard. You could see the alarm bells going off in her head. My wife and I strolled by her, pushing our grocery cart. Yep, she made a beeline for the asst. mgr, who in turn followed us to the produce section. It was the UNARMED asst. mgr who approached me as the ARMED security guard used him for cover. LOL.........what a joke. Anyway, the asst mgr started with the usual "it's our policy........" I told him he had two choices: he could ask me to leave or he could honor my constitutional rights and allow me and my money to stay. While he was kicking it around, I threw in "do you have a computer?" I had him pull up the state constitution, citing the article and section. After he read it for himself, he responded, "you've enlightened me !!!!" The armed female security guard was NOT happy. One ignorant Louisianian educated, millions to go.

The very fact that they need to post an armed guard at a Grocery Store tells me you need all the guns you can carry.

I LOVE the idea of having him look up the necessary information online. That was brilliant! He has an official source, rather then simply the say-so of a stranger, and being able to quote the article and section clearly puts you in the "intelligent person peacefully exercising his rights" category rather then the "gun-toting redneck looney who uses the bill of rights as an excuse to act like an idiot" category.

Well done. One down, many more to go.

Yes, that was an excellent idea on the part of MEM. Very good approach.

Give the asst. mgr some credit, too. He was open to being "enlightened." Would have been easy for him to say no.

Maybe consider writing up a favorable letter to corporate on the asst. mgr....
