it seems to be half way there already!

incidentally, I sent GOA an email asking for their support, if not financially, perhaps in one of their email alerts.

Thanks - I have asked GOA the same thing a ways back - a single email blast by GOA asking folks to hit this petition would be great for us. On the other hand, GOA probably does not want to dilute their email alerts with every little item either - it's their call.

And thanks again folks - John is behind getting all you'all's contribution monikers updated - I probably should fire him, after all, just because he is working a real full time tech job and trying to start law school by communting across the coutnry on weekend, that's no excuse!

Just dropped by $25 to the cause & joined up on the TXCDL.ORG site. Sorry I didn't send it to TXCDL, but this family is a bit closer .

Anybody live near Austin and have time to check bill board sites? We need a covert scout who can quietly do this and report back.
Mike, I can do this, just let me know where you want it. I suggest I-35 outbound either north or southbound out of the city. I say outbound because they are headed home and will have more time to search the internet. But if you want inbound that's OK, too. Just give me an idea of where to look. I can do this on Sunday after church or Monday, I'm off. Let me know if you want pictures of the locations.

Might I suggest 2 billboards, I will donate another 100 myself. One on I-35 near 290 for North Bound, and one near Ben White for South Bound. Those areas are always a nightmare during rush hour, and there will be plenty of time to see them.

I'm not sure we can gebnerate enough $ - we need like $5K to get it made and up for 2 months, then another $1,500 per month therafter - and If we do have that kind of donarship, then maybe we should put the sign outside another maor metro area like Houston or Dallas

Morning, Boys!

I just did PayPal for $100.

I just got back from a month in South Texas and was astounded to find that it is illegal to OC in Texas. I was even more astounded to find that if someone sees your weapon while carrying concealed - it is "brandishing". What nonsense! Brandishing is pulling your weapon and waving it around in a threatening manner. Don't they have dictionaries in Texas?

Anyway, I just quit my job, partly over the carry issue. As a geologist in charge of a nuclear logging rig (potential terrorist target) I was, initially allowed to carry. Then the Canadian home office decided that under no circumstances was anyone to be armed on company property or in a company vehicle. The carry issue and other lies by management led to my willful self termination.

It is high time that people grew up and took a bit more responsibility for their own actions and their own safety.

Any of you make it to Wyoming, stop in for a coffee and some conversation.

Well, ya'll are the guys making decisions, perhaps you're right, more cities are the answer. If there are alot more donations and it looks like it could happen I'll pony up some more. The only reason I though of 2 in Austin, is because thats where the legislators are. Anyway, keep up the good work.:celebrate

First, let me say "Thank you very much!" Not only for the donation you have already made but also for your willingness to give more if necessary.

I feel privileged to get to associate daily with the members we have here on OpenCarry.org who come from all walks of life and yet are all willing to do what they can to improve the rights of all Americans!

On your second point, we will really have to think about what to do with any additional funds we receive (of course they will go to the billboard project but how).

My initial thought is that we keep the one billboard in Austin (which as you said is where the legislators are) and simply extend the length of time the billboard is there.

If more people asked them politely to do so it might convince them.

Well Sir, Freedom ain't free. I suppose it depends on how much $ we can get, then decide ifya'll want more than one, or one in the same spot for longer. I will be home on leave around the middle of August, and I'll be happy to scout out sites, and get any info you need. I'll try and get to the Saxet Gun Show and talk the idea up to folks.

Thanks, Big Ugly. It's good to see folks with convictions and the willingness to act upon them. I would definately enjoy visiting with you the next time I am in WY.

John, I will be able to donate more if/when the need arises.

Richard
