Gonna be making a universal type Kydex seat holster prototype soon that would mount to the seat with a few different fastening methods soon. I will post picks when done in case someone wants to go that route.

Sounds interesting.

I'll be keeping an eye out for your pics.

Hah! I agree, $300 is a big lump of money if you don't have it (you could almost buy a decent pistol for that). If I didn't have the $300 I would most certainly go with the duct tape option (after all duct tape is arguably the best product available for any use/circumstance. :)

The great thing about the Titan is that is can double as a gun safe for the house as well. They come with a couple mounts that you can install in the car as well as the house (I have a mount attached to my bed frame). It is very easy to uncouple the gun vault from one mount to another. If you are looking for an option in which you have a dual gun safe for the house and car it works very well (for a price of course).

After Nov. 1 st.

I have been OC’ing loaded and holstered on my hip in my vehicle since Nov. 1 very early AM, and I will continue to OC in my vehicle even with the CC License.

I have discovered that while in the vehicle in a seated position, drawing the firearm is difficult to say the least (yes I practiced that). And with the seat belt / shoulder strap on, the shoulder strap covers the holster and part of the firearm making draw practically impossible. I was able to move the strap behind the grip of the firearm which made draw similar to drawing without the seat belt on… So..

I have decided to mount a spare holster in the vehicle which would allow easy (fast) draw while seated in the vehicle. This holster will be my firearm’s home whenever I am in the vehicle. When I am leaving the vehicle I will simply draw and put the firearm in the (empty) holster that is on my hip from the time I get up until the time I go to bed. As far as keeping the firearm in the vehicle if I ever have to go into a location that is deemed illegal by the law, I will also be mounting a lock box to the vehicle as well.

This holster will NOT be mounted on top of the dash as I now have the permit that mount location is a moot point...

If I would have known that I would have gotten my CWL this quickly, I don't think I would have entertained the idea of 'dash carry.' I was leaning away from that anyway, since I have OC'd in my vehicle for a year and thought I would just keep doing that even w/o a permit. .

Yep... Even before I got the application in, I had made the decision not to mount a holster on top of the dash. I was ready to OC in the vehicle loaded and holstered on my hip (after Nov.1). I know some here (I.K) advised againist it but I felt that based on the probablility of being stopped by and LEO in the 45 days (I thought) I had to wait for the permit, in realtion to how I personally felt about a (full) holster on the dash, I was willing to be the "Test Case" if nessesary.

Now it is kinda ironic that after OC'ing on my hip in a vehicle i have decided to mount a more easily accessible holster in the vehicle but defineitly NOT on top of the dash...
