We expect the first gun bill of 2013, SB 60, to arrive at governor's desk today and be signed into law later this week. This non-controversial bill makes a correction in the types of FFLs exempt from some requirements of Michigan law, such as the need for their customers to obtain purchase permits. All FFLs will now have those exemptions rather than just Class 1 FFLs.

it passed the House 75-34 with 2/3rds of the Democratic Caucus voting against this very non-controversial bill.

Of course they did and for good reason. This bill will more than likely lead to more blood flowing through our streets.

of course, and don't forget the wild west shootouts at the OK Corral!

seriously though, i think this votes clearly illustrates that most of the current MI democratic legislates have absolutely no intention on supporting ANY gun rights legislation. if they voted no on something as inconsequential as this you can only imagine their opinion on real gun rights bills.

That's what I come up with, but it's not in laymans terms. I guess I just don't understand.

when HB 5225 was passed last year they forgot to include all FFL's in the bill, this bill just clarified what FFL's were included. It wasn't even a "pro-gun" bill, it was basically just to fix the language in a bill that already passed, and yet 2/3 of MI democrats still voted against it. it's the kind of thing you'd expect from rabid anti-gun CA or NY democrats, but apparently MI democrats are taking cues from their buddies in those anti-gun states and refusing to pass anything gun related unless it's a gun control bill.

I've read the bill and it appears it only applies to other FFLs that are dealers... am I correct? (So FFL 03s are not covered)
