OC'd in Langley Federal Credit Union. Thanked the manager for the change in policy and asked that my thanks be sent up the chain.
That is major news if it is in fact a new corporate decision/policy - finely, after all of these years.

VCDL announced it in the 13 July 2015 VA-Alert.

PVC confirmed with an LFCU manager.

Yes, major. I remember because my brother and I have been sending them letters for years.
I've added this site to http://friendorfoe.us/map/ with a Positive Rating.

Anything new?

Heading down to Williamsburg on Sunday, from Pa. Anything new I need to be concerned with in regards to open or concealed carry. I have a Pa. LTCF and non resident Utah CWP. What is off limits in colonial Williamsburg, if anything. We will be going to see the Christmas lights. I'm figuring Busch Gardens is still NO CARRY so I will be leaving it in the safe in my truck.

Any information will be much appreciated. :)

Colonial Williamsburg is a private property but very carry friendly. Many of us OC there regularly both outside and in the Williamsburg Foundation's buildings.

Caution - the same cannot be said for the Jamestown Settlement which is owned and operated by the state of Virginia. No guns allowed there, thanks to our governor.

Note that state ferries are considered extensions of our highway system, so carry is legal.

No permit/license is required to OC in Virginia whether on your person or in your vehicle.

Just asking GRAPE. Can the state controlled part, do any thing besides trespass you?
Not sure what you reference with "state controlled part."

But sure - they can prone you out, tell you to quit resisting while they gift you new wrist jewelry and transportation to a secure facility. That is not likely though and would be abhorrent behavior for this part of the world.

A trespass charge is what I would expect if one did not leave when informed to do so. I prefer avoiding that as I don't want anyone to conclude that there is an unattended gun in my vehicle.

Thanks for the info! I arrived today and went to Busch Gardens tonight. I left my firearm in the safe in my truck and went in empty holster, under my jacket (it was about 40degrees) They only barely checked my wife's purse I was surprised that there wasn't any wanding going in. It was dark so I couldn't see if there were signs posted for prohibited weapons. The light were beautiful and we enjoyed the park very much.

If you are still in the area, the Grand Illumination of Colonial Williamsburg is Sun., Dec 4[SUP]th[/SUP].

There is a story somewhere in the OCDO archives about an OCing visitor being spotted by a squad of British redcoat reinactors.

"Sir - that colonialist is armed! Should we not disarm him?"

The commander looked over at the commoner who was clearly carrying and replied, "That won't be necssary Jenkins, let him be. These upstarts will never prove to be a threat to the power and might of the king."

The rest is history.

Attended the Christmas Craft show on Saturday at the Va Beach Convention center. Only heard one comment, an older guys commenting to his wife as they walked by.."I wasn't feeling too safe here until I saw that guys hip...."

Saw a male O/Cing at the goodwill on Lynnhaven parkway on Sunday but did not get a chance to engage him in conversation.

OC'd in Forbes Candies for the first time this weekend. no reactions
IHOP again. Manager came and greeted wife and I in lobby while waiting like we were valued customers (I guess we are). It probably calmed some peoples apprehension about a guy with a gun in the lobby, if the manager knew them well and "caught up" on things since we were last in.

Typical Wawa's and farm fresh. Was going to go to Santa's Christmas Village in down town Va Beach but it wasn't open when we were there so walked the streets and a few of the shops at hilltop east. Again, no reactions.

Open Carried at Home Depot in VB tonight. Not even a look. Then went to petsmart in Landstown Commons and was asked to leave. I'm gonna write there corporate office and see what their policy is because the management found not really tell me. Just that they would appreciate it if I left.

From a post in May 2011.

http://forum.opencarry.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1529840

Sounds like at that time Corporate policy was it's OK. The post also gives contact information.

...snip... Hello my friends! I received two phone calls from PetSmart Corporate in Arizona, stating that they are not against Open Carry in their stores nor have they been. They fully support State and Federal Law and profusely apologized for the incident occuring in the Onalaska/Lacrosse Wisconsin Store. George of PetSmart also stated that his managers have received training on this subject in order to avoid any further misguided actions.

I sent an email to corporate through their website. I'll post the response when and if I get one.
