Is this the same manager that told you to leave? Doesn't apologize for problem. Doesn't state how problem will be fixed.Just got a call and voice mail from Pet Smart about there gun policy. Below is the voicemail transcribed.
Hi this is Amanda I'm the store manager for the Petsmart at hilltop I was calling about uh your inquiry about our firearm policy um so I reached out to my home office just to make sure um that I have the right answer for you so we just comply with normal state regulation um which allows you to carry as long as you have the proper permits and stuff required for the state um we do not have any personal or store level policies regarding firearms as long as it's in compliance with Virginia law if you have any other questions you can give me a call back at the store again my name is Amanda number is XXX-XXX-XXXX.

I've been there several times, never a problem.OC'd at the new Field and Stream in Chesapeake over the weekend. No problems or issues.
All of Virginia municipalities are legal to OC properly holstered handguns. There are a few limitations on OC of long guns in several cities. We moved here in October from Louisiana, a very open carry state. I thought VA was as well, but I was researching and am getting conflicting reports. Is Norfolk a non-OCC city? I think there was another listed as well.
What are the rules here for OCC? Is any city off-limits or is there a pre-emption law in place?
I have 4 small children and like to be prepared....
Based on an alert in the VCDL email, I went by RK Chevrolet. Initially I could not find any signs but upon discussing the purpose of my visit the staff showed me where the small signs are posted. I sent an email informing management that I would no longer be servicing my vehicle there or using their body shop. I received a reply from the CS Rep saying she was forwarding the email to management but that it was being done for the safety and well being of their customers and staff. I replied that my search of open source police reports could find no reported incidents at any RK Chevy facility and could she please provide details of what occurred recently to necessitate this policy. No reply yet although I did have one missed call on my work phone from RK Chevy but since they did not leave a voicemail and the caller id just showed the "Main" number the operator was unable to determine who called me and connect me to them.

It's clear that this business has taken some pains to make their policy known to their visitors, but only after they arrive at the property. Does that mean that the armed customer may stay and conduct business if s/he leaves their firearm in their vehicle (likely parked on company property)?Based on an alert in the VCDL email, I went by RK Chevrolet. Where are they. I will be down there soon and can always go in, act as if interested in a 1500 and express very strong interest in one. Then see the sign and advise I do no business with a business like that and let them lose a customer. I played Chevy salesman for about 3 years in the past and can play strongly interested customer very well.
