For Military and retired military:
Langley Exchange now has a gun counter. Very friendly, but not a very big counter. They gave me a web address for where they get their guns, but I didn't have a password, so I couldn't view it. I'll try to remember to ask for the password next time I go there. Their prices are very competitive and the best part is not having to pay sales tax. The price on ammo was high, but that was probably because it was self-defense stuff.

Quartermaster Police Supply: Denbigh Blvd & Warwick, near the Burger King.
Bought a double mag pouch. Good price for it. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
E-mailed them for a price on a rifle. The price quoted was competitive.

Sheriff's: Heard great stuff about their low ammo prices on bulk stuff. I haven't been able to get in the store yet, but plan to this week.

Re-reading all the stuff about Ron Hess almost makes me want to go visit him again. I haven't been in there in 20 years. I REALLY wonder HOW he stays in business with his personality problems. I remember reading in the paper about his shooting some BGs when I was younger. That was in the late 70's I think.
Yep... I'll "disarm" or maybe CC and visit him again. I haven't been verbally abused in a while. I'll see how long I can take it before I can't take it anymore. I didn't have a voice recorder when I was younger...

List of gun stores I will not patron due to the fact that they won't let citizens carry for protection:

-Dominion Shooting Range in Richmond
-Ron Hess in Norfolk
-FireArms Sales, LLC in Ivor
-Superior Pawn and Gun on Virginia Beach Blvd

There are too many (good) shops in the area that allow you to protect yourself to give these guys business.

Fiancee and I visited Albemarle County Firearms in Charlottesville yesterday. Store owner was FANTASTIC. Very friendly, store was clean and well organized. Staff didn't try to put their two cents in when another patron asked me what I carry because he was interested in getting something for his wife, which to me, is a HUGE plus. Hate it when men try to step in and answer when someone is asking a woman her opinion. Prices were good and selection was good. I was concealing in my purse, finacee had a question about size comparing mine to one we were looking at, asked and received permission from the owner to take my gun from my purse to place on the counter for size comparison. He handled it very well, I was very pleasantly surprised. Plus theyre beside a Papa Johns :D. They are also a Class III dealer.

New Gun Store in Greene Co.

Anybody been in the new gun store on Hwy 29 near 33? Behind Wendy's? County Line Firearms.

They were closed for the day when I snapped the photo.

Told my wife how delighted I was that they had my Christmas list posted right out front along the top of their storefront.

I honestly like Superior Pawn and Gun (any location). I find the Armory a great place for accessories and cleaning supplies but they have the highest prices in Hampton Roads for ammunition.
