So if it is on the Fox website (the internet), does that make it doubly true?

Bonjour.....

LOL .. actually if I had a quality scan of the document (600-1200dpi scan jpg or bmp file) I might be able to determine from this scan if the document is genuine and may be able to determine who produced it or where it was printed.

I have skills.

Lots of out-of-staters trying to foment a confrontation on this issue.

1. We need to seek clarification from the State AG that they are not seeking to enforce this law proactively...as a primary offense.

2. We need to seek clarification from DESPP that they aren't going to start sending out these letters.

As a general proposition, we should seek clarification from the CT State Gov't that this law wasn't enacted to criminalize individuals who wish to in good faith comply with the statute. If the state wants to pass/enforce a new law that they passed while reassuring state gun owners that this law wasn't designed to curtail their rights, they're going to have a hard time living up to that if they are tossing them in jail left and right.

IMHO, the state should not reject ANY filings made prior to a charge for violation of the statute (or a related search warrant)...if the purpose of the statute really is simply to know the where/who of these guns and public safety. In reality, and what we are already seeing, is that this law is solely intended to criminalize law abiding citizens and to chill/restrain the exercise of their rights.

Then there is the statement from the state police that they would participate in such action.

CT State Police Spokesman Lt. Vance says that state police would comply with an order from the state to conduct door to door gun confiscations.

Experts claim that as many as 350,000 people are in violation of the law, and over 100,000 of those people could face felony charges.

Don't know, it may be. Just posted the link from JFPO after reading it.

This appears to be their source:
http://topconservativenews.com/2014...articipate-in-door-to-door-gun-confiscations/

A lot of seperating the wheat from the chaff needed as a result of this bad law.

If confirmed... That comment from the CT State Police could justify violent "pre emptive" action against the police by any CT citizen who thinks they may be on a list.

I hate violence but should a boot meet a door over this law, I'd have no issue with the citizen treating LEO's just like any of us would treat armed home invaders "without badges."

No one wants bloodshed but if LEO's follow these orders, the ensuing violence will be of their own making.

CT Patriot Group Fights Back Against Confiscation Order: We Are Armed…

New article on SHTFplan.com today:

"Connecticut Patriot Group Fights Back Against Confiscation Order: ‘We Are Armed… And Are Familiar With the Finer Points of Marksmanship’

The war on liberty is coming to a head in Connecticut, where tens of thousands of gun owners have refused to comply with their state government’s gun registration laws. Officials have literally ordered those who failed to meet the registration deadline to surrender their firearms or face arrest.

The State of Connecticut is now demanding that gun owners across the state turn in all newly-banned, unregistered firearms and magazines or face felony arrest.

The State Police Special Licensing & Firearms Unit began mailing out notices to gun owners who attempted to register their firearms and accessories with the state but did not do so in time for the Jan. 1 deadline of Connecticut’s newly enacted gun control law.

The law bans the sale of magazines holding over 10 rounds and “assault rifles” manufactured after 1994 and requires that residents who possessed either before the ban to register them with the state.

It doesn’t take a stretch of the imagination to understand that the enforcement of this law can only come at the barrel of a gun. Therefore, we can conclude that we may soon see SWAT-style raids on the homes of suspected law breakers. Because we’re talking about gun confiscation, you can be fully assured that the state will not be knocking nicely, and they won’t be asking residents to exist their homes.

They’re going in full force.

(large snip)

There will be those in Connecticut who surrender their firearms. But a growing sentiment across the United States suggests that there will be those who will simply refuse to submit to the will of the state.

If Connecticut goes through with this and sends heavily armed police personnel to the doors of Constitutional Law-abiding citizens it is not out of the question to suggest that we will see bloodshed and violence when these gun confiscations begin.

The people have had enough and many Americans are preparing to stand their ground.

How many CT State troopers are there? Seems we know 350,000 people have refused to comply.

The end of that statement was resounding. "stand your ground"... Most states recognize the citizens right to "stand his ground" If defending life and property when threatened by a criminal.

...should it matter that the potential "criminals" could be drawing paychecks from the State?

Only problem is that the article is incorrect. The group mentioned is located down south! Alabama I believe. Sorry, don't know much about that website, but by the looks of it, I wouldn't take much they post as fact, LOL.

I don't think you'll have to worry about leo's breaking down doors anytime soon here. They swore an oath, and I'm sure they'll abide by it.........;)

Therein lies the real issue. If push comes to shove on this, all of the training in the world won't help against that kind of force imbalance. If (big IF) the people who are intentionally defying this are doing so with the intent of sparking a conflict, the enforcement end would end up having to be much bigger than all of the police department roll-calls of the entire state combined. That's not even taking into consideration all of the armed citizens from other states who appear all too willing to pull up the stakes and head to CT with an arsenal in tow.

What I can't help but find amusing, is that with all of the momentum that this is picking up, the state is going to end up looking stupid either way. Either they back down, and nothing happens, or they strike, get their asses handed to them, and all hell breaks loose. At this point, whether or not the letters are legit is probably going to prove irrelevant. People believe they are, and it's getting really damned big, really damned fast. Something about trying to stop a freight train...

I can assure you, I am not trying to stir anything. Merely observing from a distance. This actually concerns me a bit, but only because the premise for the entire thing appears to be heavily based on misinformation.

The second the state actually start kicking in doors, or firing shots is the second that I stop caring what happens to the people enforcing this. Until then, everyone needs to calm down and look at the actual facts involved.

1) Are you saying that the Sipsey Street Irregulars are not from CT?

Their blog looks to me like it has everything to do with CT. http://sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com/

2) SHTFplan.com is one of the better alternative news websites out there, and author Mac Slavo is widely respected for his journalism.

Or are you referring to the Sipsey Street Irregulars website?

Indeed and the talk of armed resistance is totally off topic here.

But what will likely happen is that whenever the CT State Police (or other cops in CT) find an unregistered weapon in a car or home, they will CONFISCATE it and charge the person in possession of the "illegal" weapon with a felony.

ISN'T THAT A FORM OF CONFISCATION?

First registration, then if you are found with an unregistered weapon it gets confiscated.
