I was shadowing the Shotgunner. He had a bandoleer that kept falling off his shoulder and then would juggle the shotgun as he walked. He swept a bunch of folks on several occasions. I did ask if it was loaded, it was not. I cautioned him about his load as he was having trouble just walking around. He finally got cold and went home. No worries, just made a bunch of people nervous.
On another not, it was pretty obvious who carries regularly. A lot of the long gun folks just unconsciously played (touched, handled) their weapons. They just did not realize they were doing it. I saw a woman with an AR who probably never wore it slung before Saturday. It was too heavy for her and the sling was narrow and cut into her shoulder. She tried moving it from shoulder to shoulder an finally just held it with both hands at port arms. She caught the eyes of the LEOs standing ten meters away, but I got to her first with a gentle reminder. Most were very good about it and I am glad we did not have the problems some of the gun shows had saturday.

The fudd with camo pants?

He was 2 seconds from getting hit.

He kept covering people with his muzzle, and when I walked by, he unshouldered his shotgun and had it pointed RIGHT at me.

I yelled 'WATCH YOUR MUZZLE', and his response was 'It's OK, it's not loaded'............ I wanted to take it from him and beat him with it.

He wasn't as bad as the guy who was walking around with his hand curled around the pistol grip on his AR finger-on-trigger

least not what I saw of him, the shotgun guy seemed just clumsy...

I was wandering around aimlessly while enjoying the fact that I was standing in the middle of quite an arsenal. Those of you who know me may have heard I have a little thing for weapons. I was enjoying just inventorying them. "Yeah that one would go in the safe, that one under the bed, oh yeah two of those babies...." I was having fun.
I noticed that almost everyone was Armed. I also noticed that a great deal of them did not Openly Carry their weapons as a matter of course as so many of us do. It was a special day. It was a day to be an Armed Citizen and be proud of it. SVG and I asked each other "How many will be carrying on monday?" So it is not unnatural to not be as comfortable with a weapon in a situation like this. The long gun guys, like the AR guy with his hand on the grip, would sometimes unconsciously touch or fondle or nervously readjust. No harm was meant by anyone and considering the enthusiasm I am surprised we did not see more. (remember what a wedding was like in Ramadi?) Expect people to do it and quietly remind them that everyone is watching them. Safety is everybody's business, expect nothing less of those around you. Don' get angry with them, remember, we are all family.

Clown Mask?

Enjoyed the day. Well other then the damp cold and the freezing fog when I left Everett.
The bozo in the clown mask hanging around by the fountain got a little extra attention from me though! Why the mask?

WELL DONE!

You were part of a grassroots army of gun owners that visited capitol campuses, gun shows and other venues across the country on Gun Appreciation Day.

Good job...especially to OCDO's Jim Beal and the other organizers, nd the guys at WaGuns.

Well,,,

Now Im really sorry I didnt stop and talk to that guy..with a card board cut out rifle...
He KNOWS tongue in cheek,,, .
The video link is worth watching,,, He is a hoot!

I was the short one with the Mosin, and she has the same problem. So I pulled the bolt entirely and put it in my pocket.

Aside from the muzzle bumping my ankle, it worked out fine--I adjusted the sling length and got her to hang reasonably stable.

Im sorry I didnt talk with you,, but I did meet you briefly and you pulled your bolt out of your pocket to show me..
I was carrying the BP rifle with the flags sticking out of the muzzle,,, I wonder if I was carrying Loaded?

other then being critical (although not actually against) open carry, I like alot of his stuff.

I saw mercy... walking with her bolt removed, I just never talked to her because I didn't know it was her!

please come to the hideaway in port orchard next month and introduce yourself mercy!

Thier was one very special guy that was carrying a shot gun with a bandoleer of ammo,
security wouldnt tell me any specifics,,, But did say that the guy just seemed "Dangerous".
He didnt talk to him,,, just watched him like a hawk, Untill , I guess, the guy left or ,,, something...

One guy I saw, and I dont know why I didnt go talk to him about his carry, as I did often, to lots the guys
and gals at the rally,,, Not in the way of security but just because I like finding out about all the different guns...

Anyway the point is, this guy was carrying,,, in hand!,,, A card board cut out of an AR15 or AK47!!!

Yeah, I saw that guy. Didn't seem to bad except for his constant repositioning of his shotgun, and the few times he covered me with his barrel like one of the guys I was talking with behind the booth, sorry I forgot you name boss.

Will do. (I considered a nametag and decided against it.)

It's too damn cold to OC, why I added a long gun. ;-)
