Not sure if you're joking, or implying it was intentionally staged, or ???. haha

From what I understand, it was the Seattletimes reporter who snapped it, and that we had a few members here who witnessed it?

It looks pretty staged to me, not accusing you. But if someone was waving a rifle around out of a window driving down the street right in front of people I would have expected a reaction out of the people in the background after all how could they have missed it. Who wears gloves like that in a car and why?????

~ WooT! ~

~ Just settling in back at home. Wanted to say "WOW" Great event over all, huge turn out!
- It was great to see everyone, and thumbs up to everyone who put good effort into making this happen, a HUGE "THANK YOU!".

- As for the rifle out the window, ya, not smart at all, same for the revolver out the sun roof guy. Some peeps get a little over excited i think and forget their behavior can reflect on everyone. The media seems to be using it as a pic-op, but doesn't seem to be smashing on it, or spinning it, thanks to them for that.

- Over all, and excellent event, wife and I had a great day with you all.

- Stopped off at Cabala's after and got a set of .45acp dies for Sparky - YAY!

Bat :dude:

P.S. ~ Wolf, lookin forward to hearing from you

Many people doing that where??? If it was not an isolated incident then why did I not see it?

On the street.

I saw multiple people holding their rifle in one hand out of a 'car' window.

I went down to the street while the tables were being taken down and saw a selection of guns being held out of windows.

I'll ask my friend if he got any of them on video.

Great rally today! Felt good to see so many people show up!

I OC'd my 1911 and decided to sling my AR15 over my shoulder. I'll say I didn't lock the bolt open, though. Didn't want random crap collecting in the chamber.

Felt great being with fellow patriots excercising our rights!

Just out of curiosity, in your opinion, who do you think it was staged by? Media, friends trying to get a cool photo, or ??

Like I said before, that particular picture doesn't make us look that bad, even if the guy is a total dumbass. Am interested to hear your thoughts on the matter. I wasn't by the street at all during the rally, so didn't really see anything that happened.

The long gun OC didn't seem to be much of an issue based on what I saw. Did you have mag in?

I was going to carry a Remington 700, but didn't really know what to expect so I didn't. Besides, with the muzzle down, gravity likes to close to bolt, and I didn't want to upset any LEO.

I saw people carrying long guns with bolt open, bolt closed, mag in, no mag, etc. LEO didn't seem to blink an eye at it. People were safe and responsible with their long gun carry and that's all that really matters. I didn't personally have a mag in, I was carrying my AR15 for the symbolism of supporting the 2nd amendment in whole. Had my 1911 ready to go as always, though.

Likewise. I rarely holster my Les Baer (my holsters eat finishes), but did for this occasion. I'm a big 1911 guy.

About the long guns, I just saw many facebook posts, and forum posts, etc advising against it. And if you did decide to OC a long gun, then follow the procedure, etc etc. I didn't know what to expect, so I just opted against it. (better safe than sorry).

That being said, kudos to you for the AR carry. I would have done the same if I hadn't sold my KAC a month before Sandy Hook. Also, I think the guy carrying the Barrett .50BMG had you beat

Well,,,

View attachment 9859

Is that brandishing??? :banghead:  :p

I am actually not worried too much about it. He's a dumbass, but it isn't making us look THAT bad.

From what I can figure,,, these type of displays were from folks that were at the rally,
but had left and were driving away while we were still going at it.
Fortunately I havent seen any of this "dumbass" stuff making it to the TV news,, thank you...
I did talk to security and he reported few incedents at the rally proper.
Two guys were carrying AR types, on their chests,,, But they had a habit of fingering the action and trigger.
They were advised to stop and they were cool after that.
Thier was one very special guy that was carrying a shot gun with a bandoleer of ammo,
security wouldnt tell me any specifics,,, But did say that the guy just seemed "Dangerous".
He didnt talk to him,,, just watched him like a hawk, Untill , I guess, the guy left or ,,, something...

One guy I saw, and I dont know why I didnt go talk to him about his carry, as I did often, to lots the guys
and gals at the rally,,, Not in the way of security but just because I like finding out about all the different guns...

Anyway the point is, this guy was carrying,,, in hand!,,, A card board cut out of an AR15 or AK47!!!

I would not know, it struck me as odd that there was no reaction from the guy in the tricorner hat standing on the street. If anyone is waving a rifle around I am going to be paying attention.

I was shadowing the Shotgunner. He had a bandoleer that kept falling off his shoulder and then would juggle the shotgun as he walked. He swept a bunch of folks on several occasions. I did ask if it was loaded, it was not. I cautioned him about his load as he was having trouble just walking around. He finally got cold and went home. No worries, just made a bunch of people nervous.
On another not, it was pretty obvious who carries regularly. A lot of the long gun folks just unconsciously played (touched, handled) their weapons. They just did not realize they were doing it. I saw a woman with an AR who probably never wore it slung before Saturday. It was too heavy for her and the sling was narrow and cut into her shoulder. She tried moving it from shoulder to shoulder an finally just held it with both hands at port arms. She caught the eyes of the LEOs standing ten meters away, but I got to her first with a gentle reminder. Most were very good about it and I am glad we did not have the problems some of the gun shows had saturday.

Well, the wife and I were there; but we didn't arrive until the party was basically over. We parked shortly before 2:00 and were hastily drawing up our signs. I could hear that there was a speaker finishing up, some cheers from the crowd, then some singing. By the time we walked over most everyone was gone, so we just went over where people were holding their signs up along the street and hung out there for an hour; we were one of the last to leave. Gonna have to plan the trip a lot better next time around, coming over from eastern WA with a few morning delays and unexpected stops really killed our timing. I was OCing my Ruger sr9c, and "no more gun control" sign, wife just had her "follow the constitution" sign. I did witness a few nutty antics from people driving by in their cars (I've seen other mention this as well). Holding ARs or pisols out of the window while driving by... Wasn't a fan of that behavior, I could see it being used against us to make us all look irresponsible.

Sad that I missed basically the whole event, but still glad we came over and waved our signs for a bit.

I was the short one with the Mosin, and she has the same problem. So I pulled the bolt entirely and put it in my pocket.

Aside from the muzzle bumping my ankle, it worked out fine--I adjusted the sling length and got her to hang reasonably stable.

Here is another OCDO member that got it done. MSG volunteered to do security he came and quietly went to work walked rounds the entire time he was there keeping an eye out for everyone's safety, good job brother.
