Our venue:
In May 2006, the Catfish Club moved to a new location the San Diego Hall of Champions. The new site is conveniently situated in Balboa Park across from the Aerospace Museum at 2131 Pan American Plaza, San Diego 92101 (Directions: after entering downtown San Diego, left on Park Blvd., left on Presidents Way and Proceed to stop sign, the Hall of Champions is first building on the left - parking is free).

Meetings are the 2nd and 4th Friday at noon unless otherwise noticed, and lunch will be served to members and guests (non-member luncheon, $20).

The Balboa Park Visitors Center is a program of the non-profit Balboa Park Central (a public benefit 501(c)3 corporation).

Printed on the building's entrance in large, bold letters are the words "FEDERAL BUILDING". I wouldn't risk it by carrying there. Knowing the freedom-hating Assemblyman Saldana, she probably chose the venue knowing this.

...does anyone know anything more about this Catfish Club than what is posted on their "About Us" page? I would hate to pay $20 to attend this debate only to find out they support the democrat party or some other socialist organization. Maybe its just me, but I'm very careful as to who I give my hard earned liberty loving money to.

All Saldana and her group got out of Heller and McDonald is reasonable regulation. They missed the part about being able to carry a weapon in case of confrontation and some mumbo jumbo about "shall not be infringed". I think they call that "cherry picking". I would consider it a waste of time, as they haven't listened to anyone yet. I'll spend my $20 on something else.

The CATFISH CLUB is described as being made up of racially diverse individuals,the "movers" and "shakers" of San Diegos minority community.I can say this much.Lori Saldana does NOT give speeches to "Conservative" audiences.

I would love to do that. Bring a sign (or a bullhorn) to voice your displeasure. Let her know that we will dog her to death if she runs for the State Senate - A very REAL possibility.

Some of these "Representatives" make our lives miserable by their foolish bills that they author.

Let's give a little back while she is still in office.

Did you get a chance to watch her final remarks at the Senate public safety committee where she talked about how some brazen person drove all the way across California to come to the commonwealth club meeting and then carried a concealed weapon into the building? Just be sure to carry a sign saying that she's attempting to violate everybody's civil rights or something so she doesn't seemingly get more ammo for people doing completely legal things.

I kinda like that idea, but you would have to make it utterly clear that this is the reason why you were doing it- That because Saldana's postion is that people being armed for defense is such a danger to the community, that it must also be true with her armed body guards... And of course, some reasonable message into the fact that she wants to deny the protection that we seek, while indulging herself in the benefit of armed defense.
