At SAMS Club, I let them "check" my receipt. You really don't have a choice there. They block the exit and you have to get past them. There is no way to do that without being rude.
Receipt checking is one of my buttons. I never break stride at the Walmarts... I do go to BJs, and will let them check if there isn't a long line. I usually just have a hand full of stuff... if there is more than 1 or 2 carts waiting, I just walk by to the right. Only once have they called me back... and they checked me right then. Usually while I am saying something to the effect of "if you want to check receipts, then get enough people up here to do it fast... I don't get paid to stand in line to carry my own stuff to the car..."

If you want to read some really heated debates between the freedom lovers and the sheeple, look for some of these stories at consumerist.com!

If any one beliees this bit of fiction, I have some oceanfront property in Nevada for sale.

With all the details he has, he never says the officers checked his ID and cc permit. Since he is from out of state (NJ), I cannot see them not checking them. Where is his permit from? I was under the impression NJ permits were almost impossible to get.

He says the woman was fired, but he goes back in the store to confront her. If se was fired, she would have been out of there by yhe time he finished putting his firearm away.

Hmmm. Fishy story.

Lesson = do not ever discuss the fact that you are concealing a handgun. No good comes from bringing this to the attention of a crazy lady. I would have opened the door and prceeded on my way.

+1 on not stopping to be receipt checked on the way out of a store. I just keep on walking.

Nothing fishy about the story. You guys can question, analyze, and dissect it all you want. For all of you who question certain things, I am sorry but I no longer disclose what permits I have or what kind of work that I do or what I carry because this is public domain and its is not suggested.

For those of you who enjoyed the story I am glad. I am glad I shared it but I am not glad this happened to me. I am happy it was over with and I am leaving it at that.

And yes she was fired. She remained in the store as she was just finishing up speaking to the LEOs and I decided to also have a conversation with her before she left. Its really not complicated.

Why oh why do I share my stories with people that want to question everything is still a mystery to me. LOL

Maybe Sailor Curt can get a job blocking exits. It'd be worth the drive.

The supposed facts involved in this story do not add up. The OP has posted numerous suspect stories with bizarre sequences of events to the forums since he's been a member here. I'm not saying that any of it didn't happen but when you post a lot of bizarre stuff it makes it harder to believe any future tales in the long run. However, they are pretty damn funny stories to read. I needed a good laugh today!!! Carry on.

After reading the above post and this whole thread, I am inclined to agree with LRS and another poster from one of jax's other threads: Sure smells like bovine scatology that doesn't add up. It seems some people embelish things to make their lives more interesting. 99% of the time most of us OC, NOTHING HAPPENS. Over the one year this guy has been posting, it seems like he lives in Dodge City. He's been through more stuff than I have in 27 years of carrying. He sure has been busy!

I come from a land downunder.
In which country do you live?

G-day 'Southernboy'

Australia.

Sucessive, Liberal / Coalition, and Labour now in bed with the Greens, governments have finally made this great country of ours the Arse hole of the world. Even a former prim-minister not so long ago called Australia the arse hole of the world. Since the firearms ban by the alleged gun hating liberal Prim minister John Howard, and since armed self defence is also now illegal, I tend to agree with him. Haz.

Good to find another normal person from down under Haz.
I have a lot of pro gun friends there...on the other hand, every photographer/videographer, I've met from your country, is an Little Mary.

Keep the faith!

Too much left out, too many things that don't add up.

Entertaining - maybe. Taken seriously - NO!

I doubt you'll hear confirmation or denial on that, buster. Me thinks somone has been polishing their short story writing in preparation for the new school year.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of that.
I read an OC story on another forum about a year ago.

My guess is Mom had just started sending him to Karate classes....He told about a Security Guard who tried to grab his gun and all the elaborate Martial Arts techniques he used on him. The end of the story was the Guard quivering on the floor.

All the gun groupies cheered him on.

peter, you almost owed me a new laptop. I was taking a sip of water when I opened your post. LUCKILY FOR YOU, I was already swallowing BEFORE I snorted, so it just went through my nose and onto my shirt in front of the keyboard. I only need to change my shirt now. THANKS for the AM laugh, Brother!

As I said, it's a fishy story, and he called me out on it. Fair enough...just confirm that it's the Pilot, and I'll ask about it inside the store next time I'm going down that way.

This never should have happened. Firstly, you should have never let her bar you exit. Secondly you should have never told her what was in the bag.

NO WARRANT = NO SEARCH(of my bag) or SEIZURE(of my person).

You shouldn't of answered her. You shouldn't have let her detain you.

P.S. - although this story reeks there are two points I must make.
1) Pilot, along with most truck stops, have a very high rate of shoplifting.
2) Pilot has scanners at all doors, and electromagnet tags just like wal-mart.

After she moved away from the door, why didn't you just LEAVE?? Who cares if she calls the police.

To the OP...

You're from NJ and you say you were carrying concealed in Virginia. From what state is your CHP issued? Virginia and New Jersey are not reciprical states.

The OP has already stated he is not willing to divulge this information. What does it matter? We assume here that barring evidence to the contrary, people who act and claim to be legal, are.
