Are "weaponized" flashlights legal to carry concealed in CA?

Switchblades over 2" and balisongs come to mind.

I thought if it is over 3" and if the knife is concealed? I thought the way around that is the clip that most switchblades have that basically keeps the knife exposed?

My uncle (a police officer) gifted me my first tactical switchblade that was 3" long.
My current switchblade (4.5" long) has been confiscated by federal agents and returned to me afterwards.

 I would advise reading the law before carrying a switchblade in any state!

Concealment has nothing to do with switchblades. Less than 3" or must be open carried is for fixed-blade knives.

I guess I'll have to look into that... appears my police officer uncle is guilty of a misdemeanor, somewhere.
The kook who wrote that law should visit chinatown sometime... I was just there on Saturday and the butterfly knives and extendable batons this one store was selling. I was really really tempted to get one of those batons. oh man--

Thanks for sharing, Marshaul.

The term switchblade is generally synonymous with automatic opener - push button.
Many (all?) states reserve them for LEOs. Assisted openers are more frequently legal.

Additionally some weapons may be legal to buy/possess but not legal to carry. Check your state AND local laws - misc weapon laws including those for knives are much less consistent than the ones pertaining to guns.

There are some federal law exemptions, but not state. I believe if you have/do serve in armed forces you are permitted to carry a switchblade, along with LEO. Don't quote me on it. Take a look at pc 653k.
