If the cop hasn't been properly trained, any mistake they make should not be put in their personnel folder and follow them around for the rest of their career. Like I mentioned above, why would a rookie think a CHP lists a particular weapon a person is allowed to carry? Because they haven't been trained on gun laws, that's why. Not that the person in my example above even needed a CHP, his weapon was visible when the "man with a gun" call went into 911.

Oh...I see. We should forgive the little darlings for being ignorant little petunias an stepping on everyone's rights.
Makes perfect sense:uhoh:

Of course if the example had had a video, he could retire early!

Define "open carry" events. Are they events organized and sanctioned by the members here? If so, none.
Thank you for answering. Badger Johnson never went to any either.

I've been to many. I know many in this thread (e.g. skidmark, peter nap, grapeshot) have been to many as well. In fact, I've spoken with each of them at these dinners, picnics, and meetings.

I hope you'll understand when people believe those other guys (or maybe even me) over you when it comes to explaining the intent of open carrying.

I'd go into detail about my perspective, but I think I'd just be echoing much of what skidmark already said.

Well, let me end with this one final thought. I and my secretary go through the Bodo's drive-thru on Preston Avenue. I would estimate the visits between her and myself at 25 to 40 a month. They have extremely good food at reasonable prices. Whether they want guns on their property or not is up to them. They don't see my big guns when I go through the drive-thru. And they won't see my big guns if I decide to walk inside (CHP). None of this debate will cause me to stop eating there. And none of this debate is going to cause a substantial amount of repeat customers in this area to stop eating there. I will support open carry, but I will not give up things I enjoy in life because an owner doesn't wants firearms on his/her property.

I seriously doubt if Bodo's will even respond to the postcard tha was mailed out to them. The parking lot is always full, and nothing Open Carry does or says will matter to them at all. Bodo's has un unbelievable following in this area.
