A better picture of the whole target.
Shot was about an inch and a half high left. Not bad for 300 yards cold bore, first shot of new ammo type (Fusion)

Does this count as good shooting?

I was doing pull and shoot drills, where I would pull and fire two shots in rapid succession.

I did this 3 times at between 20 and 25 feet with a 1911 A1 .45 ACP. The shots to the eye and the mouth were for effect.

Damn!! Very nice!

I guess you are skipping the two to the chest first, huh?

Shooting straight for the hard drive!!!

Went to the range the other day with a friendwho is a member of this board. We shot some full auto and visited Hooters afterward. I am not sure what was more fun... Hooters or the range.

I decided to boost my already inflated ego by loading up 30 rounds of free ammo (Provided by my friend and not mydepartment) and see what I could do.

I know it isstationary, does not shoot back, has a red center, and I have all the time in the world to shoot at it. But it was for fun and to see what I could actually do.

30 rounds@ 7 yards shooting full auto bursts of 5-6 at a time. Counted all 30 on the paper and only one stray outside the black.

Last week when I made it to my favorite outdoor range at the other end of the state I was practicing drawing from my holster. With my S&W 64 I drew quickly and fired 6 shots as fast as I could pull the trigger (You'd be surprised...I've had this gun for awhile and practice with it alot). I put all 6 shots on target at 15yds and in the process I cut right through the 1" wood dowel rod that was holding the target up. That's with .38's so I was obviously hitting the center of the target to do that ;)

I also got some trigger time with the M44 carbine I bought two months ago. With brown bear ammo that rifle was very accurate out to the far berm with the iron sights.

No target pics unfortunately. :?

Yeah.. about an inch and a half off center...
Only took 1 shot. 300+ yds. I already knew the gun and was just checking out new ammo before I loaded up the gun to hunt! I figure that close at 300+ yds would kill anything that I was aiming at! (unless I was aiming at a Dove or rat or something really small at that range! It was dead on at 225 and 150.

I did finally go to the range this weekend and rented a few pistols... Between my brother and me we sent 500 rounds down range through 10 different guns! I will try to get pics of the targets posted after I find a marker to mark the groups.
I didn't think I did too badly for it having been so long since I practiced and using rental guns, but I could tell that I need some more practice. The kid that runs the range seemed fairly impressed though!
I also discovered that I really REALLY like the HK P2000 .40 cal:D

the AR15is a .223 is that correct? or are they chambered in different calibers?
The AR15/M4/M16 Style rifle is available in numerous different calibers, to include (but not limited to) : 5.56x45mm (.223), .22LR, .300 Whisper, 6mmPPC, 6.5 Grendel, .450 Bushmaster, .50 Beowulf, and .50 BMG. Aftermarket Kits are also available to allow the aforementioned rifle to chamber handgun rounds such as : .50 AE, 9x19mm,.45 ACP, and 10mm Norma. However, IMO, The .223 is the most popular chambering for this rifle.

AR-15

Most are factory. The lower assembly fits many calibers and your money/imigination is really your only limit.

My Bushy is 5.56x45/.223 caliber and handles any brand I feed it. The target was hit with Wolf 55 grn jacketed.:)

Well Said. I have a DPMS (Panther) in .223 with a .22LR conversion, it also will handle any brand I feed it, with the Exception of the .22LR, it's a little sensitive sometimes, but still a boatload of fun, and much much much cheaper to shoot all day than the .223........
