This is the first of what may be many posts on classes I will teach in SE Wisconsin over Labor Day Weekend. It will involve the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit Course to be followed by the NRA Basic Pistol Course. Let me begin by thanking MKEGAL for agreeing to be my NRA assistant instructor.
How it Works:
Students meet at 10am at the park-n-ride at the East Troy Airport. At 10am you will be escorted onto the secure part of the airport. Parking is minimal inside the secure area, so students will be asked to car-pool with each other.
The Utah Course will be taught first, but with Firearm Familiarity and Safety deferred to the last part of the class. Lesson Plan 1, 2, and 3 from the NRA Basic Pistol course will be used to satisfy the UT Firearms Safety and Familiarity part of the course. Students will be shown how to safely load and unload both revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Those with minimal experience will practice loading semi-automatic pistils and revolvers using "dummy" ammunition. Then we take a break and I sign the UT applications and affix my seal. - Then - those who wish to leave may do so. Those who wish to complete either NRA Basic Pistol or NRA First Steps Pistol may stay for the remaining lesson plans and the live fire shoot at a range (yet to be obtained). We will work in lunch as we can, depending on how the course goes.
I have enough student packets for 20 students for Basic NRA Pistol and 2 student packets for NRA First Steps - Pisol. I can order more, but there is no guarantee that they will arrive in time.
Students wishing to take only the NRA Basic Pistol Course and NOT the UT Concealed Firearm Permit Course should PM me.
All Students must download the Utah Required Training Materials

All students must download the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit Application and have it filled out before class:

Students will meet at 10am at the park-n-ride at the East Troy Airport (Highway 20 at County Highway L). The airport is visible from the Highway 20 exit off of Interstate 43. At 10am, somebody will lead people into the secure part of the airport. Because parking is minimal, car-pooling should be used.
Course Fees: (LACK OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES IS NO REASON NOT TO GET TRAINING - PM me if you want to make special arrangements.)
Course Fees For The Utah Concealed Firearm Permit are: (Please note that the "spouse" fee also applies to adult children over the age of 21).
Military Veteran with the Military Order of the Purple Heart - Course Fee = $10 (Spouse = $15)
Military Veteran with the CIB (or equiv) Course Fee = $15 (Spouse = $20)
Military Veteran - non combat - Course fee = $20 (Spouse = $25)
Current Law Enforcement Officer - Course Fee = $20 (Spouse = $25)
Wisconsin Carry Paid Member AND NRA Member = $20 (Spouse = $25)
Wisconsin Carry Paid Member = $25 (Spouse = $30 - if not also a member of WI Carry)
Person who is a member of a 2A group not NRA or WI Carry - Course fee = $35 (non member Spouse = $40)
Citizen who is not a member of a 2A group and has not joined WI Carrry before the class - Course Fee = $40.
NRA Courses (Basic Pistol and First Steps - Pistol) - All Students must pay the $30 MSRP for the Textbook, tests, and related training materials.
Vet with Purple Heart = MSRP + $5
Vet with CIB = MSRP +$10
Vet - non combat = MSRP + $15
LEO, or - WI CARRY + NRA = MSRP + $15
WI CARRY = MSRP + $20
Person who is a member of a 2A group that is not NRA or WI CARRY = MSRP +$25
Citizen who is not a member of any 2A Group = MSRP + $40
Spouses or adult children over 21 add $5 to the above groupings.
All students who wish to attend should sign up on the NRA Training website. I have posted my courses online. Just go to the NRA website training page and enter zip code 53120 (East Troy Zip) and my courses will pop up. I expect to be doing other courses and those too will be posted on the NRA Website - both NRA courses and UT CFP Courses.
Outdoorsman has a range we can use, BUT, it is a 50 minute drive from the classroom. Students who live near East Troy or Elkhorn can be a HERO if you can get something closer. Otherwise, there is a commercial range in Waukesha that MKEGAL uses. If we have to go to a commercial range, each student will be responsible for lane fees. While the UT course does not require live fire, each NRA Course does require live fire.
Reminder - Lack of financial resources is NO REASON not to get training. Private Message (PM) me if you need to make special arrangements.
Carry On my friends - Proudly carry on.
