Wisconsin police officer charged with pointing gun at another officer

he was being teased and decided to retaliate with the threat of lethal force(as far as what I have read). Sounds like he needs to be reprimanded and the other officer's should join him in watching a PR video about creating a hostile work environment.

Getting picked on is not fun, but the reaction was excessive. Both parties are in the wrong IMHO.

No reason to bash, officers are just regular guys and girls with a tough job. Sometimes they make stupid mistakes or bad decisions like what happened here, no-one is perfect and were all human. I'm just glad to see this wasn't sweep under the carpet and forgot about. Like a wise man once said "either we are equal or were not".

I think this guy is pretty lucky, friends or not anyone pointing a gun at someone is likely to have a few pointed back at him in a group of armed men. The only problem I see is"on paid administrative leave", but I guess that's the way they do it. Seems to me if your found guilty of a crime you should have to pay that back and lose all your benefits too.

I think some departments have the administrative leave rule that if found guilty, you have to pay it back. Which is kinda dumb in the first place...should be just, your out what your out. If you can't perform your work during the process, then you don't get paid. Like a normal job.
But I agree, that was a really dumb act on the accused part. But they should be held to the same level of enforcement of the law, or higher since they are supposedly trained better.

Did anyone notice that this was TWO YEARS AGO?

"According to the complaint, Schollmeier got upset with other officers teasing him and pulled his gun on one of them on Nov. 22, 2008."

So let me get this correct: He is only now being charged after TWO YEARS? He was 37 years old and did this? And we trust him as a police officer? It isn't like he is 15 and not trained. This guy is a danger to everyone and should NOT be in law enforcement.

this is too easy, like shooting fish in the barrel. Saw the headlines in the Journal Times this a.m. one of my brothers please post a link to this story. i don't beleive my comments will consitute bashing, as i define bashing as generalized inflammatory or derogotory remarks with no evidence to support. but it is indeed up to the moderators if this thread will survive. to understand what may have transpired in these recent incidents, i reviewed these you tube videos to better understand how things work at the Police Dept. my tax dollars go to support:

in the past i have posted what this department did to me, and local papers have reported about the under the table payout schemes envolving the department leadership, and their convenient retirement when it came under public scrutiny. Now these 2 apparent incidents. perhapse now would be a good time for me to do a freedom of information request regarding me, and turn this information over to the civil rights attorney i recently had the pleasure to meet at Lizzy's.

A much more detailed article about this incident. Looks like this is the second time this officer has done this.

I think this is going to be used against the current concealed carry movement going on in Wisconsin. This event took place over two years ago why else would it be brought into light now? I do feel that he should be punished to the full extent of the law. The anti gunners say something like cant even trust those who are properly trained and supposed to protect you against violence and crime.
