Obama's more moderate history was why I voted for him. McCain had gone too far to the right in past years. He used to be my favorite Republican, but alas, he spoiled himself. And then there's Palin... Don't even get me started.
I am guessing you get your news from mainstream media and do no research on who you vote for. McCain has never had a right wing thought in his life, the McCain/Feingold bill pretty much shows where he stands and it isn't the side of the constitution or people who believe in it. Maybe I had a leg up on Obama because I was still down there during his first election loss and he beat a good man with his dirty tricks squad when he finally did win a seat in the Illinois Senate.

Consistently anti-gun in every single vote in both Illinois and the Federal Senate and you think that is the mark of a moderate? I don't mean to rain on your parade but getting the country to swing back to becoming a Republic isn't going to happen with that kind of voting

Us citizens regaining the loss of our constitutional rights long infringed upon by rulers, not representatives can only be done by voting for those who respect our rights, all of them not just the ones they like and approve of. If you really are on this site to get your gun rights back you might want to do a little reading first. If you are here to stir the water consider the waters stirred.

Old Grump, I like your thinking. I hope to see much much more postings from you in the future, Welcome to the forum.

BTW, Blue River?? Help me out a little as to the location. I am not familiar with the place and I do not feel like looking it up right now.
I am near Minocqua, but on the vilas county side (One of the few "red" colored counties in the state)

And I grew up in Rhinelander and am very familiar with Minoqua. Basically I grew up on the north end of the Wisconsin River and not at the tag end of my days I am rooted at the south end. There were many stops in between

Late in getting to the forum but I have been shooting a long time and following politics a long time. Many strong opinions and some of them may even be right.

Thank you for the Welcome, I aim to be a productive member, to amuse, educate and learn. I promise to ruffle feathers but I'm not mean or malicious, just an old dog set in my ways.

If I make it to the Muscoda Morel festival this year, I'll try and look you up.
